Plot
The war is over, the Autobots and Decepticons (except Starscream and his team) prepare to sign a declaration of peace, despite Optimus being still missing. During the signing however Starscream's troops attack the Council's chambers (where Slamdance is reporting from, so this is being broadcast as well). Grimlock's team manages to take out most of the dissidents, but Starscream enters the chamber and kills the council and causes the chamber to collapse with Slamdance inside.
The now united Autobots and Decepticons manage to find the remainder of Starscream's troops and take them down. In the aftermath the united Transformers start working on rebuilding their world when Motormaster tries to assassinate Ultra Magnus, but Grimlock takes the hit instead, and dies in Magnus' arm.
Motormaster is disabled, but before anything else can happen Megatron suddenly appears with an army of Air Warriors, and ruins the new peace.
Megatron has taken control of Cybertron, and uses his Aerospace Wxtermination Squad (or Air Warriors) to patrol the planet and take down the Autobots. Megatron places Starscream in a tube and tortures him with his new Piranacons. Shockwave tells Megatron that he's having problems with the cloning process for the Air Warriors, but the leader is unwilling to disclose where he got them from.
Getaway is chased by three of the Air Warriors through Nova Cronum, whilst several other Autobots have been taken to a facility in Praxus and forced into labour in a mine underground, forced by the Decepticons and the Air Warriors.
Megatron is contacted by his new allies (the Quintessons) who remind him that they are in control, and not him, and Soundwave reports that they have almost reached the desired depth in the mines.
The Air Warriors have Getaway trapped, but are ambushed by Nightbeat and his team, who destroy 2 of them, but need the third alive to return to base for tests, to see what they are, on Blaster and Perceptor's orders, for their rebellion against Megatron.
Slamdance (who survived the attack on the council) recounts his knowledge about how Cybertron has ancient databases and sources of power within it, which may be what Megatron is after. Perceptor explains to the Turbomasters about his plan to use the residue of the energy left by the Space Bridge explosion before to look for where Optimus was sent, since they know Megatron survived, so why not Optimus too?
Nightbeat and his team still in the same area as the Air Warrior, who has shut himself down for some reason, but during Nightbeat's inspection of it it wakes up and attacks the Autobots, and engages them all in battle.
The Turbomasters are forced to wait until the device finds Optimus, and Perceptor is asked to leave the room by Override for some help.
At the Decepticon base, several weird things are happening, like machines exploding and menacing faces appear in the walls. Nightbeat's team manage to impale the Air Warrior into some rubble, but it's still alive and on a killing spree, however Getaway manages to hook an inhibitor claw onto it and stops it, Blaster and Perceptor are happy with this progress, but worry about the next stage.
The Turbomasters are playing a chasing game in the base to waste time, but Flash enters the intra-dimensional device's room and is transported to an alien world (Quintessa)
And then Unicron devours everything...or whatever....Thanks Pat Lee!

Notes
- This is one of the last series created by Dreamwave...this is more annoying than most others that ended early because this was also a prequel series for the main Dreamwave G1 story...
- Megatron and Optimus were sent to Quintessa in the Space Bridge explosion
- The reason the Quintessons want to punish Megatron in the "present" is never explained due to the collapse of the company, but it's likely that he just betrayed whatever deal he made with them
- Shockwave is interested in the cloning process used on the Air Warriors, possibly as a prelude to his cloning in the "present"
- Catilla is shown as a Decepticon here with Carnivac, a reference to the same arrangement from Marvel
- Following the deaths of the council in War Within, a new one was formed...which is destroyed by Starscream here
- Grimlock would have been revived in the following issues, and was the weird presence in the Decepticon's base
- Sorry if I messed up some character names here, but since this is Dreamwave it's pretty impossible to tell who most cameos are meant to be half the time
- The Air Warrior that Nightbeat and his team deal with seems to have Energon weapons, like those created by the Omnicons and Terrorcons in Energon.
