Fun Pub - The Return of Blurr!!

Plot
Sari joins Arcee's class on a tour of Metroplex so she can learn more about her Cybertronian origins, however her new classmates, Siren, Nightbeat and Hosehead all seem a bit disgusted by her organic nature, and her eating habits.
Arcee takes the class through the Cybertronian Intelligence Division offices, and Sari notices a disposal hatch to dump the remains of her lunch in, when she falls through the hatch.
At the bottom of the hatch, she touches a blue cube, that reacts with her residual Allspark energy and reactivates the spark of Blurr inside. Blurr explains how Shockwave crushed him into a cube and had Cliffjumper unknowingly dispose of him down the hatch.
Sari uses her tech-savvy powers to find an exit to the incinerator, when she accidentally activates an old Decepticon trap called Kremzeek...

Arcee and the rest of the class are inside the Council Chambers and realize that Sari is missing. The group start to look for her, when they hear an announcement about an intruder in the recycling center, leading to the class assuming it to be Sari.
Sari and the Blurr cube find themselves on a conveyor belt in the recycling center. Kremzeek reveals himself, and activates the conveyor belt, sending the two heroes towards a furnace, luckily however, Arcee and the other students manage to rescue them before they get killed by jamming the belt and other machinery.
Arcee speaks with Sari and Blurr about what is happening, but before long Kremzeek jumps into Nightbeat and tries to use her to get himself to Fortress Maximus so he can destroy the Autobots. Arcee manages to use a control panel to lock down the room, then attacks her possessed pupil with her laser blades.
Kremzeek jumps out of Nightbeat and into Siren, who uses his sonic powers to blow a hole into the wall. Hosehead tries to stop him from escaping by using his foam cannons, but Kremzeek switches bodies to Hosehead and runs away through the hole in the wall.
Sari transforms her scooter into her jet pack and catches Hosehead before he can reach Fortress Maximus, however Kremzeek instead jumps into the jetpack, ejects Sari from it and takes off at top speed.
All seems lost until Sari uses her strange powers to plug Blurr into her backpack and take on his super-speed powers, and Arcee tags along by holding onto her.
Sari and Arcee speed through Cybertron, going past Cheetor and Sideswipe, who are on patrol at the time, and head towards Fortress Maximus.

At Trypticon prison, Shockwave realizes that Kremzeek has been activated and is about to destroy everything. Shockwave admits to Megatron that he didn't intend to be on Cybertron when he was activated, much to Megatron's disappointment.
Inside the control center at Fortress Maximus, Jetfire and Jetstorm are manning their posts with Sentinel Magnus when Kremzeek lands inside the Fortress and takes it over, and begins to activate the photon pulse cannon, and points it towards the city if Iacon.
Sari, Arcee and the Blurr cube enter the room, and Sari manages to force Kremzeek into her body, however due to her being Techo-Organic he cannot fully control her. Arcee tells Sari that they need to contain Kremzeek somewhere. Sari remembers the soda bottle that she forgot to dispose of earlier and spits Kremzeek inside it, and seals it up, saving the day!

Later, at the CyberNinja Dojo, Optimus and Jazz use the Allspark fragments inside the Matrix to fully repair Blurr's body. Sari's classmates all sum up what they learned from the experience and Blurr happily races around the dojo, trying to find out what to do next, now that he is fully formed (and TFA season 4 was never produced).

Notes
  • This storybook is based on the 2015 Botcon script reading
  • Due to this being based on a live script reading, it includes various fourth wall breaks, I'll be ignoring them here where possible however, unless it seems pertinent for the plot etc.
  • This story is set during the Stunti-con Job comic story.
  • The "Headmaster Jrs" is a title normally given to the repaint variants of these characters from Japanese continuities (Shuta, Cab and Minerva)
  • The three Headmaster Jrs use existing character models, like with many background characters in comics. Siren uses Bumblebee's body, Hosehead uses Sentinel Prime's, and Nightbeat uses Arcee's. Out of the three of them, only Nightbeat was fully revealed before this story as she appeared in the Complete Allspark Almanac.
  • The trio also feature exaggerated gimmicks, Siren screams everything, Nightbeat tries to use her detective skills on everything, and Hosehead is Canadian....yup...that's the joke!
  • This story shows that Blurr was probably killed when he was crushed by Shockwave, but Sari revived him with the Allspark Key energy residues inside her.
  • In this continuity Kremzeek was a Trojan horse program made by Shockwave to disrupt Autobot systems and other technology....why is he a popular image amongst the Autobots in drinks etc then!?
  • Arcee was given her laser blades (from the toy) from Ratchet, who was attempting to make her pointers for her lectures.
  • This story indicates that the Fortress Maximus is not located in Iacon (as it aims it's gun towards the city)

Plot
Red Alert is working on Luna 1, documenting the unborn sparks on the hot spot, when he starts noticing a strange five dotted pattern everywhere he looks, in the shape of a Mnemosurgery scar...
Red Alert is stationed on Luna 1 with Fort Max, a newly arrived Cerebros and an hoard of Domesticated Roboids.
Red Alert, whilst still paranoid, thinks that things are getting better in his mind, that is, until lately...something is going wrong....

Red Alert is woken up by Cerebros one day, so they can meet with Fort Max in the "Departures" room to see off one of the repaired Roboids, who is returning to Cybertron following his rehabilitation. Fort Max is upset that none of the repaired Roboids ever want to remain on the moon with them, but understands that they need to go back home.
Cerebros bemoans his heavy work load, being the only surgeon on the moon, when he suggests that he use a remote device to speed up the rewiring of the Roboid brains, by taking full control of their brains. Both Fort Max and Red Alert think that it would be unethical and that he should go with the slower method for safety.
Before anyone can argue any more, Prowl appears through the space bridge, and is immediately attacked by Fort Max, who is still annoyed about Garrus-9. After a short argument, Prowl manages to get Max to stop fighting, as they have a major issue to deal with.

In the Titan Graveyard, Outrigger is climbing up one of the dead Titans, whilst vlogging his adventure with the help of the partially de-domesticated Roboid Beak. Inside the Titan, the duo find a working space bridge and a small robot near it. Outrigger approaches it, assuming it's a Roboid too, but is immediately attacked by him. Beak snatches Outrigger's datapad with his Vlog on it and leaves for help.
The small robot, revealed to be Sentinel, reattaches to his larger robot body and orders his new cohort, Sovereign to devour Outrigger's spark, so he can turn it into Energon for himself. Sovereign refuses, and Outrigger uses his back-mounted crane to attack Sentinel, before running out of the Titan, and plummeting from a great height.

Back at "Departures", Prowl has locked down the space bridge, to try and stop Sentinel from reaching the moon. Prowl explains that Sentinel resurfaced from death earlier that day and killed a load of Cybetronians in the Ghetto, and also reveals that during the early days of the war, Sentinel intended to use a Titan to attack the Decepticons with, before he was "killed" by Megatron, explaining why Prowl thinks Sentinel will come here.
Red Alert isn't sure if he can trust Prowl, due to his recent actions, and his past as Sentinel's employee, and he believes that Prowl and Sentinel are still in league with each other. Beak arrives and drops the datapad, informing the group of Sentinel's arrival.

The team head out to the Titan Graveyard, where they determine that Sentinel must have somehow used one of the dead Titan's space bridges to get to the moon. Fort Max and Prowl briefly talk about the messages from Rodimus and the others on Necroworld, and lament that they haven't been able to contact any of the Lost Light crew since then.
Red Alert finds Outrigger with Beak's help, luckily he's still alive, but badly injured. Cerebros notices one of the Titans moving nearby, so the group go after it, Beak stays with Outrigger.

The group head to the Titan, which appears to be standing on one of the mysterious thrusters on the moon, and the Titan shoots lasers out of his eyes. The group land on his shoulders, behind the head, where they find Sentinel. Sentinel monologues about how bad Cybertron has gotten, and how he plans to fix it.
Soon the group are directed towards the Titan's brain module, where they see Sovereign hooked up to it, giving the Titan life, and as a bi-product, also giving life to the other nearby "dead" Titans. Sentinel plans to use them as an army to take on this new "corrupted" Cybertron.
The Autobots prepare to take on Sentinel as a team, but Prowl is quickly shot in the back...by Red Alert, who stands beside Sentinel with darkened optics, apparently under the Titan master's control

Notes
  • This issue is set AFTER the upcoming Ongoing #56, as such the "previously" section includes a MAJOR spoiler for one character in that series...so I'll try not to mention it here...no promises though....
  • This story follows Red Alert and Fort Max on Luna 1, where they were left following the Killswitch incident.
  • It appears that Red Alert's mnemosurgery wounds seen during Shadowplay were caused by someone associated with Sentinel Prime.
  • Cerebros has been mentioned on-and-off as a member of the Luna 1 crew, but makes his first visual appearance here.
  • The Roboids, rescued by Fort Max and the Scavengers earlier, are still being repaired now.
  • The Luna 1 crew have repaired the space bridge on the lost moon, and have a connection with Cybertron.
  • Prowl was last seen active during Sins of the Wreckers, where he was abandoned by the Wreckers and left to his own devices.
  • Outrigger is a Cybertronian Youtuber...this is adorable!
  • Sovereign is the name of Alpha Trion's Titan Master partner in the toyline...I wont mention what other connection he has with any other characters...
  • Sentinel mistakes Fort Max for Pious Maximus, a pre-war dignitary who was opposed to Functionism.
  • Amongst Sentinel's grievances with modern Cybertron include the peace between the factions, Starscream's rule, colonists, "cog snatchers", "half breeds", Monoformers, Conjunx Endurae being openly affectionate and other concessions.
  • The "cog snatchers" and "half breeds" are hard to identify, but it does bring to mind the Harry Potter franchise and the hatred for Muggle born wizards ("Mudbloods" who were rumoured to steal wands for magic and "half bloods" where muggle blood is added to a pure wizard line) so maybe it's something like that...some how....
  • It's revealed that Sentinel has knowledge on the biology of Titans, including otherwise unknown details on how they can be revived by a Titan Master linking to them.
  • Sentinel also knows about the secret thrusters on Luna 1, since Luna 1 went apparently missing during the war between the Guiding Hand this would make Sentinel extremely old. On the other hand however, Sentinel may know about them because he was informed about it by someone who built the thrusters at a later date (ie, the Mystery Gear sigil group)
  • Huh...Cerebros and Fort Max are teaming up to deal with a Titan? Why does that make me think of a certain new Titans Return toy?

Plot
Windblade arrives at Metroplex's brain chamber and asks him to monitor the rust corridors to look for both Onslaught and Swindle's body, Metroplex asks her why, but Windblade is unwilling to reveal that. Unfortunately for her, Chromia appears and forces her to reveal that she's doing surveillance work for Starscream because he is threatening to expose Chromia's crimes to everyone.
Windblade reveals to her that she's looking for Swindle and trying to find him before Onslaught can because Starscream thinks he can do something to him to hurt his leadership.
Chromia reveals that she has secured footage of the space bridge room during the Combiner Wars and brings it up, but finds it corrupted. Chromia starts working on de-corrupting it, which takes a long time.

Over the next two weeks, Chromia works on repairing the footage, whilst Ironhide is training up his new police force. After the montage, both Blast Off and Chromia manage to hack into the security footage, showing Rattrap and Wheeljack carrying off Swindle's body.
Chromia rushes off to find Wheeljack, and contacts Windblade to keep her informed, however Starscream wont leave her alone, since she hasn't given him any good information yet.
Chromia reaches Wheeljack's apartment and tries to speak to him, just as Blast Off and Vortex blow a hole in the wall, intending to take Wheeljack in.
After a short battle, Chromia is beaten, and Wheeljack reveals that he and Rattrap didn't try to hide Swindle's body, they were trying to save him as he claimed to have secret information on Starscream, but they were too late, and found him brain-dead.
Soon afterwards, Onslaught confronts Rattrap, but is stopped from hurting him by Blast Off, who has arrived with his own Autobot prisoners. Onslaught forces Rattrap to fetch "something" for him, whilst Wheeljack takes him to Swindle's body.

Wheeljack leads Chromia and the Combaticons to a hidden lab where they find a brain-dead Swindle lies hooked up to some machines. Onslught still seems hopeful to get the information from Swindle's mind, but Blast Off is fed up with this. They've found Swindle, but he's brain-dead, they have failed in their plans. Onslught manages to convince him to just help him once more, which Blast Off regretfully does.
Rattrap turns up and Onslaught takes the "something" from him....the Enigma of Combination! Onslaught plans to use this to combine the Combaticons with Swindle, so they can both get the information from his head, and also get revenge on Starscream....

Notes
  • Windblade reveals to Chromia that Starscream is blackmailing her because of what Chromia did in the original Windblade mini-series.
  • Despite not being a City Speaker, Chromia can communicate with Metroplex using a keyboard and monitors etc.
  • Metroplex has seemingly grown some streets of apartments for the Cybertronians to live in!
  • How did Rattrap manage to steal the Enigma of Combination here? Last time we saw it, it was under constant guard by at least two individuals.
  • Despite what it appears to be, it looks like Blast Off is willing to abandon Onslaught and the other Combaticons after this mission to try and save Swindle, most likely as a consequence of his positive police training by Ironhide.
  • On the other hand, Onslaught appears to be turning a little bit possessive and wants to merge with the Combaticons for ever!!!
  • This issue came with a pull-out advert for the upcoming Revolution event.

Plot
The Pretenders and Megatron are heading towards a city in Mexico in a bus where the Autobots interrogate Megatron about why he went into hiding, to which he claims to be trying to protect his culture as the last "true Decepticon".
Meanwhile, in the Shattered Glass universe, the leadership of New Cybertron are discussing the recent return of Classics Megatron and the workings of Rodimus. Grimlock forces the Acolytes of Unicron to take him to meet with Gaea, the new core of this planet and asks her what she did with the Humans, as he thinks they need them back to balance out the Autobots, keeping them on track.
Gaea refuses to locate them, but does concede that she made a miscalculation, and the universe she sent them to has a horrible terror coming up, but she also points out that she sent the Autobot Pretenders as guardians for a reason...

Back on New Earth, the bus is attacks and plummets into a zoo, the passengers work on escaping, when Megatron points out their attacker: Thunder Mayhem. The Autobots take on their true forms and attack the giant Decepticon. Before all the humans can escape the bus, the bus loses balance and tumbles into a gorilla compound, but Spike and some other humans are rescued by a strangely robotic-acting gorilla....

Notes
  • The screen-cap comic reveals to us that the cause for the "Uprising" continuity was because the original BW Megatron succeeded in killing G1 Optimus Prime at the end of "The Agenda", and rewrote history, however Blackarachnia also tries to kill G1 Megatron at the same point with her venom, thus making the Hunger Games Uprising storyline.....thanks....
  • The arrival of Classicsverse Megatron on New Kaon at the end of "Another Light" is briefly mentioned here, but since Fun Pub are losing their Transformers licence at the end of the year, I doubt it'll be resolved before then.
  • Gaea reveals to Grimlock that she sent the Humans to a version of Earth where humans didn't evolve, and thus never got involved in the Cybertronian war. She also reveals that she sent the Pretenders to the new Earth as a precaution in case of any future problems
  • I wonder if it was just a coincidence that this, the first issue to fully show Thunder Mayhem is the first one to be released following the last member of his team being released for the Sub Service....huh?

Plot
On Cybertron, Starscream is dumb-founded by the Metrotitan being on Earth, and awaking to Optimus' commands live on TV. The rest of Cybertron are just as amazed, and the Council of Worlds holds an emergency meeting to discuss this new situation...

On Earth, Skywarp has taken himself, Blackrock and the EDC agents to the White House where the president is worried about Optimus having a two mile high warrior on his side now. Skywarp tries to explain to the President that raising a Titan is a holy thing for a Cybertronian, but she doesn't care.
Elsewhere, at the Indian Ocean, Cosmos is ordered into space by Arcee, who comes with him. The two of them have been tasked with taking down Galvatron before he can escape. Cosmos quickly reaches Astrotrain and opens fire on the weakened Decepticon. Galvatron opens a hatch on Astrotrain and knocks out Cosmos with his cannon. Cosmos manages to disable Astrotrain's engines before he can reach Sanctuary Station, but is unable to do much else, Arcee leaves him as Laserbeak and Buzzsaw rescue him and take him into the Station for repairs.

Being damaged, Astrotrain tries to land on Jupiter, but doesn't realise the planet has no physical surface and starts tumbling through. Arcee follows him through, so Galvatron leaves his ally, and throws his disabled form at the female Autobot, who simply slices him into three pieces. Arcee briefly engages Galvatron is battle before Optimus and Soundwave appear from the Skyroller shuttle. The trio gang up on Galvatron, who declare that it is more important for Galvatron to simply be dead that to be honourable and face him one-on-one now.
After a messy battle, Galvatron is left without one of his arms, due to his cannon being forced to explode. Galvatron tries to explain that he needs to exist as he's the only one who can stop the Primes from returning, but Optimus simply says he doesn't care, he points his blaster at the ancient Decepticon, and shoots him square in the chest, reducing him to ash, except for his head, which Optimus plucks from the corpse and takes with him, back home...

Back on Earth, the President is on the way to the UN for an emergency meeting, when she finds Optimus, Soundwave and Arcee in front of the White House. Optimus presents her with Galvatron's dead head as a peace-offering, stating that he is there to help the humans, and wishes for them to join their Council of Worlds as an equal party. He has the Metrotitan transform into Autobot City remotely, to be used as an embassy for Cybertronians on Earth, and he wishes for Earth to embrace them at long last...

Back on Cybertron, the Council have decided that due to Earth having a Titan and it's own Prime, in Optimus, that it be allowed into the Council if desired. Starscream goes off to sulk about losing the vote, and his imaginary friend Bumblebee proceeds to mock him for not following his advice on not trying to go against Optimus on the Earth issue.

Notes
  • This issue was originally due out a week earlier, which is why the start of Titans Return follows up directly after the end of this issue.
  • Starscream recognizes the Titan on Earth as being the same one who named him the Chosen One, despite him appearing to die at the end of his appaearnce in the RID Annual book. Rattrap also confirms the identification.
  • Poor Cosmos, he finally gets to do something, then Galvatron blasts him out of commission.
  • Considering he has an upcoming Titans Return toy coming up, I doubt Astrotrain is completely dead here.
  • Arcee throws Galvatron's battle axe into the atmosphere of Jupiter here, he has had that axe since the original wars on Cybertron....dammit Arcee, that was probably worth a fortune!
  • Soundwave declares that he now agrees with Megatron's choice to join the Autobots and give up the Decepticon way.
  • The humans declaring an emergency UN meeting on Earth parallels the Council of Worlds convening on Cybertron to discuss the Metrotitan and Earth's role in the future.
  • Optimus has started to declare himself as an Earthling since he "adopted" Earth as his new home.
  • The only part of Galvatron to survive his death is his head....I wonder if there's any new Headmaster themed toys for Galvatron out at the moment?

Title: The Dying of the Light Part 6: Do Not Go Gentle
Written by: James Roberts
Art by: Alex Milne
Colours by: Joana LaFuente
Letters by: Tom B. Long
Editor: John Barber
Publisher: Ted Adams
Plot
In orbit around the Necroworld, the Galactic Counvil ship, The Retaliator, is waiting for Overlord to finish off Megatron, whilst still complaining about how the DJD arrived on the planet before him. Getaway contacts them to find out whether they kept their promise on the safety of the other Autobots with Megatron, which the commander denies ever promising with a smile, all whilst pondering the use of a secret weapon...
On the planet's surface, Megatron is kneeling to Overlord and Tarn with their cannons, but activates the panic bubble from Trailcutter's corpse and protects himself from the shots, sending the Decepticons flying.
Tarn starts to panic about losing his chance to get Megatron, and has the rest of the DJD join him in attacking the forcefield manually, and orders Deathsaurus to send his troops to attack the other Autobots. Inside, Rewind activates the conscience weapon to affect any Decepticons who are susceptible, seemingly only hitting Deathsaurus, who is feeling guilty for the deaths of his men on this mission.
Nickel takes control of the situation and orders Deathsaurus' troops back to the Peaceful Tyranny to leave the planet with her, as she has lost faith in Tarn's vision now.
Overlord decides to leave now, as he sees no reason to go after Megatron any more, having seen him cower in fear inside a panic bubble.

Inside the fortress, Brainstorm questions how Megatron can use the panic bubble, since he's not an Outlier like Trailcutter was, but Ravage explains that Megatron always has a plan, and reveals that he also stole the Time Case following Brainstorm's time travelling attempt on his life as an escape plan, but gave up on that plan after visiting the Necroworld with the crew, and seeing all the death's that he had caused.
Outside, Tarn and the DJD have managed to smash their ways through the forcefield and prepare to finish off Megatron once and for all, however once inside, Megatron reveals that he wanted this all along, and easily tears off Tarnal fusion cannons, whilst mocking all of them.
Megatron reveals that he has finally mastered the ability to use a black hole to control antimatter, and now plans to use it to destroy every thing inside the panic bubble. Megatron unmasks all the DJD and destroys them with the antimatter, until just Tarn is left.

Whilst the Autobots are watching these events from the fortress, they are shocked when the long-lost Roller amongst others enter the room, asking what's happening, and Rodimus notices that Roller is holding one of the Time Cases.
Inside the bubble, Megatron has torn off Tarn's mask, revealing him to be the outlier Glitch, and declares himself a Decepticon once more before death. However Rodimus appears inside the bubble using the Time Case as a teleporter, and manages to get Megatron to escape with him just as Tarn is killed, and the bubble is filled with an anti-matter explosion.
Rodimus and Megatron return to the fortress, but the Time Case has burned out. Ratchet rushes Megatron to Ravage, who is getting worse, Ravage touches Tarn's mask on Megatron's chest and asks him not to change back, just as he dies from his injuries.
At that moment, at the Sanctuary Station, Soundwave feels the death of his long time ally and mourns him....
Back at the fortress, Megatron flips the table with Ravage's corpse on it, and threatens to kill everyone, following his harrowing experiences today. He decides to leave the crew....the from the shadows, his old friend Terminus appears, and is confused about where he is, Megatron ejects his fusion cannon and discards Tarn's mask, and embraces his long lost friend, stating that he lost his way.

The following day, Rewind explains to everyone that the new arrivals on the planet were actually people from the list of the lost, who the Necrobot decided to rescue following his discussion with Nightbeat on his last visit. However after a while he discovered that some of the people he rescued were actually just hiding, since they were on the DJD's list, and him bringing them to the Necroworld led them to him, so he hid them in stasis pods, disguised as organics, leading to his death.
Rewind walks off with Ambus to finally talk to him about his brother's death, whilst Drift and Rodimus wonder what Rung and Nightbeat found under the planet, as they have still not returned yet...

Inside the planet, Rung and Nightbeat discover that the planet appears to be a mould for Cybertron itself, and the sheer force of the anti-gravity inside it has been messing up their internal chronometers, making them think it's only been about 3 hours.
Suddenly two lights appear inside the mould, which Nightbeat recognizes as a geobomb, a weapon that the Galactic Council has been known to use, and they look ready to explode, leaving the interior in a bright white explosion....

Notes
  • This issue reveals that Getaway actually made his deal with the Galactic Council and not the DJD. Also he asked explicitly for the Autobots to not be harmed, which obviously hasn't been complied with....
  • Also, the reason for this plan was because the Lost Lighters had started rescuing organic life rather than just mechanical, thus making the Galactic Council seem needless.
  • Trailcutter's hand was stolen by Megatron following his death at Kaon and Vos' hands, he had Ravage steal the last Time Case following the time travelling story, and abandoned it when the Lost Light located the Necroworld after that
  • Megatron "swallowed" Whirl's arm in the opening story of season two, and is revealed to have been trying to locate it with his black-hole skill ever since.
  • All members of the DJD with alias' have had their real names revealed as of this issue, except for Kaon who was killed by Tarn for his emotions.
  • Also, it seems that the Autobots, or at least higher-up ones already know who the DJD really are.
  • So...yeah...Tarn is NOT Roller, like everything pointed to...Roberts is evil. Glitch was a member of the Outlier team who helped Optimus out a few times, but seemed to stay in the background most of the time.
  • Regarding Glitch, his Outlier power is revealed to have evolved from just disabling machinery to disabling fully-sentient machines, as shown by his "talking to death" skill.
  • Also, Glitch was just a nickname from him due to his abilities, his real name was Damus, so Megatron calling him that as his "real name" was a bit wrong...
  • Soundwave previously prematurely mourned the death of one of his cassettes when Frenzy appears to die in All Hail Megatron.
  • Please note, in every panel she appears, Nautica is STILL crying into Skids' corpse, seemingly unwilling to leave him
  • The stories of the Necrobot and his Portable Apothecary are revealed to have been created by the Necrobot time travelling with the Time Case to save certain Cybertronians from going missing.
  • Hopefully Nightbeat and Rung aren't dead....but I doubt they are, Rung's alternate mode mystery is still unresolved, and Nightbeat has a new Titans Return toy out.

IDW - Titans Return One Shot

Title: The Last Autobot
Written by: Mairghread Scott, James Roberts and John Barber

Letters by: Tom B. Long

Plot
Someone on Cybertron, a shadowy figure wakes up to the voice of the Earth Titan singing the praises of Optimus Prime. The figure is unhappy with what he sees of his planet and wanders into the Decepticon ghetto, and takes out a gun...

A few weeks earlier, on the Lost Light, Rewind and Chromedome have moved Movie Night to a new theatre and are watching a documentary on how Sentinel Prime was slain by Megatron in Kaon. Megatron is invited to the screening by Whirl, and Megatron is feeling uneasy from the content of the film, but Whirl just claims to have chosen it because he likes to see Sentinel Prime, a corrupt Senate-crony, get hurt.
A discussion starts amongst the audience, where they discuss Sentinel's false-Primehood, and it's revealed that Sentinel's head went missing whilst in internment, however, Megatron reveals that the Decepticons had nothing to do with that, as decapitating a "war hero" would just make his revolution look back.

Back in the present day, on Earth, Optimus, Arcee and Soundwave return to Monument Valley, where they see the newly risen Titan transform into the Autobot City for them to reside in safely on Earth. The team are greeted by Aileron, Alpha Trion and the pets when suddenly the Titan sends out a message to the galaxy praising Optimus for his achievements, making Optimus feel a bit nervous about what this will bring from it.

On Cybertron, Windblade and Starscream fly to the old location of Kaon to investigate an energy discharge, but despite Starscream's denial that anything could be there, they do find the throught-to-be destroyed city intact. Windblade questions if Kaon was a Titan, but Starscream denies it. Before they can continue their investigation though, they are summoned back to the Ghetto by Ironhide, who is fighting off the newly returned Sentinel Prime with his security force.
Sentinel tries to get Ironhide to join him in eradicating the race traitors (Decepticon, Colonists and "false" Autobots), but Ironhide refuses and everyone continues the assault on the long-dead tyrant.
Starscream and Windblade soon arrive and join the battle, but Sentinel merely throws a spark disruptor at Starscream's chest and escapes midst the panic. Windblade sends Ironhide and his team after Sentinel, whilst she saves Starscream.
Windblade manages to remove the spark disruptor and makes it detonate, but is able to survive since her spark has a vastly different frequency to Starscream, since she was born on Caminus. The two jets fly off to join Ironhide in fighting Sentinel.
At the Spacebridge chamber, Sentinel is tearing through the Badgeless officers and manages to distract Ironhide and his team long enough to go through the portal to Earth, but before they can follow him, they learn that he's destroyed the portal on the other side.

Sentinel Prime exits the portal and immediately shoots Aileron, causing massive damage to her, whilst destroying the Spacebridge portal as well. He approaches Autobot City, and is impressed that Optimus has done something this big to an "inferior" organic planet, but he still plans to destroy it all!

Notes
  • The Lost Light scenes are set before the Dying of the Light event, whilst the present day events occur after the next issue of the Ongoing series (55) which was due out the same day as this issue, but was delayed by about a week.
  • The snacks that Megatron brought to movie night are in the shape of little Decepticon insignias.
  • Megatron was apparently unaware that Sentinel's head went missing during his internment, up until the present day....do the Decepticons not get the news?!
  • The Metrotitan that Optimus rose from Monument Valley has now taken the form of Autobot City, used here as an embassy for the Humans and Transformers to interact
  • The Metrotitan's speech takes the form of a beam of light and holographic images of several Transformers, whilst seemingly sending the words of the message to the recipients. Maybe Metrotitan thinks everyone is a City Speaker?
  • The message from the Metrotitan is later revealed to have called other aliens to Earth, like the Micronauts for the Revolution crossover event.
  • Considering what toys are going to be made available in the Titans Return line, it's likely that "Kaon" is actually Trypticon in city-mode.
  • Despite having a new toy out for the toyline, Sentinel more closely resembles his existing character model, but in his mourning colours (shown at Fastback and Bumper's funeral). The revelation that most of what we see of his is just an armour body and the real Sentinel is inside it, mostly forming the head, is a modified version of what the actual card can do with the Headmaster gimmick.
  • Sentinel's smaller appearance and body armour may mean that he is actually a Loadbearing Point One Percenter like Minimus Ambus.
  • It's revealed that the reason why Windblade and other Camiens "bleed" different colours to other Cybertronians is because Camiens have evolved to have more energy-efficient Energon.
  • I don't think Aileron will die from her injuries, as the part of Optimus' vision with her as the new Mistress of Flame hasn't happened yet.
