IDW - Road to Revolution

Plot
Scarlett and Joe Colton meet with Miles Manheim in an old Military base, and discuss how Earth has been infiltrated by Cybertronians, and has been directly involved in their civil war. They discuss how the Decepticon invasion was the world's biggest disaster, resulting in almost a billion deaths, but do admit that the Autobots did come back to save them, and help them rebuild.
Scarlett exposits that when the Cybertronians left Earth eventually, the GI Joe team were tapped to take on the newly arisen Cobra terrorist group. They were able to keep this war under cover until they caused the destruction of Nanzhao, which was then named the second most destructive event in history. Following this the Joes were slowly disbanded.
Due to the disbanding, when the Decepticons, led by Galvatron, returned to Earth the EDC were sent to meet them rather than the Joes, leading to the Decepticons to end up betraying the humans...but then more things happened.....

Scarlett talks about how Optimus unearthed an ancient Titan on Earth, which has made him to look like some sort of Messiah on Cybertron.
Miles now revels on how Colton and his crew now need his help, considering how strange the world is becoming, with aliens etc turning up everywhere, not just the ones from Cybertron.
Colton and Scarlett bring up their main point here however, despite their good actions, they believe the Autobots are trying to take over the planet as the Ore-13 left on Cybertron from their wars has become unstable and is seemingly going to turn explosive within weeks. They want Miles to use their new Cybertronian asset, a captured and badly injured Blitzwing, to help them defeat Optimus before it's too late!
Miles agrees, noting that his nickname in the Adventure Team was "Mayhem" and notes to the restrained Blitzwing, who has been begging to be killed all this time that they are here to overthrow a tyrant....

Notes
  • This is an eight page mini-issue to lead up to the upcoming Revolution event which will bring all the IDW/Hasbro comic lines together
  • Originally this was released in two parts, but the full eight-page version was released first with "Transformers: Titans Return one shot". Thus I'll just edit this post rather than make another tiny post about it :)
  • In this issue we learn that Miles Manheim (Miles Mayhem from MASK) was a part of Joe Colton's original Adventure Team. He also appeared to have some role with the EDC, since he was present when the EDC made their alliance with Galvatron.
  • It's a bit funny that Miles, a known to be future villain in IDW is the one who is glad the Autobots saved the world, rather than Joe, the name-sake for GI Joe, aka a hero....
  • The GI Joe comic continuity so far has now been retconned into existing in the time period between when the Autobots left Earth for the Chaos event, and when they returned following Dark Cybertron. This will likely be annoying for the Joe fans, but of course doesn't bother me too much, being a Transformers fan :)
  • Scarlett claims that the Joes "tried to carry on", this appears to be a reference to how the GI Joe comics have been rebranded and refreshed several times over the past few years
  • The end of this issue introduces many of the new lines for the Revolution event including the Micronauts, Action Man and Rom.
  • The remaining Ore-13 on Earth has now become volatile and is set to explode within a few weeks...guess Shockwave forgot to stabilize it again last time he was on Earth!
  • Blitzwing is revealed to have been captured by the EDC and is currently in Miles' care, his triple-changer status will probably be used to help create the MASK and Mayhem vehicles that shift between two different vehicle modes.
  • As well as waking up Sentinel Prime in Titans Return, the Titan's message into space apparently called the Micronauts and their enemies towards Earth too.

Title: Applicable Skills

Letters by: Tom B. Long
Editor: John Barber
Publisher: Ted Adams
Plot
The riots over the death of a Decepticon by one of the Badgeless officers continues through the night, but Blast Off, who was directly involved in the incident has snuck back to the Combaticon Apartment, once there, Onslught quickly determines that Blast Off has done something and takes him to one side for a discussion.
The rioters, now being led by Onslaught and Blast Off storm towards the Council building, ready to lynch Starscream for his criminal actions.
An emergency meeting of the Council of Worlds is held, where Starscream suggests that they lock down the city and arrest everyone who has committed any crime to set an example. The Council disagree, and suggest calling on Victorion from Earth, as she could end the riots easily, however Starscream refuses since opening the space bridge could allow the rioters to take control of it.
Starscream reveals to the Council that Onslaught has a vendetta against him due to him breaking a deal with him over power in the past.
Ironhide, Windblade and Obsidian manipulate the situation, and force Starscream into naming Ironhide the new head of the Badgeless, as he's respected by the public.

Ironhide heads outside to announce his new position to the rioters and promises the find Swindle or his corpse, and also asks the rioters for volunteers to join the Badgeless and help him, regardless of past factions etc.
After a short period of silence, the Tankors and Sparkstalker volunteer, at this Onslaught snaps and attacks Ironhide, however Blast Off turns on his leader and restrains him, joining the New Badgeless himself, to Onsluaght's anger.

Up at the observation level of the Council building, the Council members decide to make a comment on the situation and leave. Windblade remains to ask Starscream if he does have Swindle's body, which Starscream finally confirms to not have. Starscream blackmails Windblade into taking down the Combaticons, before they can hurt him, or he'll expose Chromia's past crimes to the population.

In the streets of Iacon, Fat Tankor offers Blast Off to stay with him since he's fallen out with the Combaticons, which Blast Off accepts. Blast Off wanders off on his own and bumps into Onslught....who congratulates him on his good work!

Notes
  • From the images shown in during the opening of this issue, it's very likely that Blast Off was the one to record the death of "Drunkatron" and leaked it to the press himself, just to add to the havoc.
  • Obsidian claims that Elita One has kept the people from Carcer back on their ship, but last issue we clearly saw Lancer and Greenlight at the bar...it was even a major plot point!
  • Onslaught and the Combaticons are revealed to have a vendetta against Starscream because he made a deal with them following the return to Cybertron, that if he managed to rise to power on Cybertron then he'd let them join him, however he reneged on the plan, causing their hatred.

IDW - GI Joe vs the Transformers #13

Title: The War Never Ends
Written, Drawn, Coloured and Lettered by: Tom Scioli
Written by: John Barber
Plot
The Joes and Autobots fight against the Cobra and Decepticon forces. Hawk attacks Destro on top of Megatron's head, but the fight ends when Serpentress and Lady Jaye spear the duo, Destro's wound is non-fatal, and so he goes to grab Hawk's tomahawk to finish him off, after recognizing it from the invading party in his past. Duke however magics his way onto Megatron's head, grabs the tomahawk, and uses it's magic robot-killing powers manages to kill Destro and his tiny Decepticon ally, Mini-Megatron.
Hawk dies in Duke's arms and reveals that Snake-Eyes was a double agent or the Joes in Cobra. Venom laughs about Hawk dying, so Duke feeds him a grenade and kills him with a great explosion. Duke leaves with Hawk's body, and Megatron uses the Matrix to fuse himself with the Autobots into Mega-Megatron, and begins an assault on the Joes.
Elsewhere, Scarlett enters the Matrix to look for Optimus' spirit and helps to lead him back to the living world. In the living world, Shipwreck has stolen the Decepticon flagship, the Nemesis, and rams it into Mega-Megatron, causing it to separate into it's many component parts.
Following this, the dust clouds around Cybertron/Primus start to clear, and Earth appears, still intact, but with a new lump of land on it.

On Earth, the remaining Joes activate the Atlas protocol, which leads them to the life support chamber holding their founder, Joe Colton, who leads them underground where they discover a giant eyeball.
Back on Cybertron/Primus, Snake-Eyes presents Cobra Commander with his old helmet, given to him from Cobra Commander's plane crash in issue 0 by Scarlett for an engagement present, and is apparently loyal to him.
Billy and Storm Shadow appear to confront Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander in battle to take them down. Snake-Eyes manages to kill Storm Shadow, who ascends to join his old Masters in heaven, but tells Billy to learn from Snake-Eyes as his new teacher.
Commander starts to gloat to his son about winning, when suddenly a device in his helmet activates, and explodes, revealing that Snake-Eyes rigged it to explode, killing Cobra Commander and several of his assembled officers.

Ultra Magnus joins the battle against the Decepticons, and attacks Megatron himself, he manages to steal the Matrix from Megatron and uses it to revive Optimus Prime, who punches Megatron sending him flying into the sun, Megatron manages to retake the Matrix (somehow) and Starscream grabs it, knocking Megatron into the sun again, intending to use it to make himself the king of the universe.
The Matrix changes hands a few times, but Optimus ends up with it in the end, he tries to use it to calm down Primus, but it fails due to him being too power-hungry.
All seems lost, until Flagg appears and reveals the Atlas protocol is in effect, revealing to everyone that the planet Earth is actually a giant Transformers, who punches Primus, knocking him back to his senses.

In the aftermath of the battle, Optimus heals Snake-Eyes of his injuries and the Joes are brought back to Earth (I assume it transformed back to planet mode).
Afterwards, life has changed, Billy has taken on the mantle of Snake-Eyes, and has taken control of Cobra, making it a benevolent company now, and are trying to terraform Mars for human life, Baroness has gone to Venus to live out her pregnancy, to give birth to Serpentor. Megatron uses his internal black hole to try and reach out to Unicron, but instead ends up on Equestria, burnt and charred to uselessness, whilst some magical unicorns give him licking kisses to make him suffer.

Hawk has a large funeral at Arlington, and Flagg is sentences to death for his war crimes, but receives a last minute pardon.
Scorponok has settled on Earth's new continent, and now has a small cabin on the tip of his tail where Snake-Eyes and Scarlett now live together, they receive an invite to the marriage of Brawn and Cover Girl (ew).
The Solar System has been changed from the events of the war, Primus speeds off to put himself back into Cybertron's proper place, but Optimus decides to leave with some of his troops to hunt down the long missing "Makers", leaving Rodimus has king of Cybertron once more.

Later, Roadblock sees his two daughters off to the school bus with Duke, when he notices the driver is the formerly dead Buzzer, he gets his girls off the bus, as it reveals itself as a Decepticon, and they realize that the war never ends...

Notes
  • IT'S FINALLY OVER!!
  • This final issue is double length and pretty much ends all the outstanding plot lines in the series (though Koh-Buru-Lah is completely absent here)
  • The Wild Bill zombie now has a completely white appearance (including his clothes) and can create weapons etc from his body
  • Hawk's death by being speared by Serpentress' cobra spear is a reference to how Duke was killed/put into a coma in the animated GI Joe movie.
  • Hawk's tomahawk is revealed to be in actuality a piece of Cybertronian technology, explaining how it was able to injure Ravage so easily in issue 1.
  • Before dying, Hawk reveals that Snake Eyes was a double agent under his orders to infiltrate Cobra.
  • Megatron uses his corrupted Matrix to combine himself with all the Autobots into "Mega-Megatron". This form looks like Megatron's Live Action Movie counterpart, but the combination part resembles both the formation of the Deceptigod from IDW's Chaos event, and the effect of the Enigma of Combination from Combiner Wars
  • This comic threatens us with a spin-off comic in 2025 called "Ship Wreck: Space Pirate"...UGH!!
  • Oh look....Earth wasn't destroyed actually, it just grew a new island from the impact with Cybertron....I dunno why either...
  • Billy's missing legs and arms have been regrown by Koh-Buru-Lah in a lizard fashion. This is likely due to some recessive genes in his body from his dad's lizard-man biology.
  • When Ultra Magnus joins the fight, he joins a bunch of Movie-introduced Autobots in recreating the most commonly seen and parodied Transformers Movie poster.
  • When Optimus is reborn from Ultra Magnus he is in a pure white colour scheme, which resembles the white inner robot of Ultra Magnus' G1 toy being a repaint of the original Optimus.
  • So Raptor can actually fly? I thought he just wore a birdy costume?
  • Flagg wears his American flag parachute as a parachute following his joining the battle....considering how he just murdered a bunch of politicians etc I can't help but think this is in bad taste.
  • Flagg's name is revealed to be Larry, based on Larry Hama, one of the major creative forces in GI Joe
  • So Earth is actually a giant ancient Transformer? I would say that was cool, but we've seen it already! Earth was revealed to be Unicron's physical body in Prime (though he never transformed) and the Classicsverse Earth was revealed to be the female ancient Transformer, Gaea in the Shattered Glass comic.
  • Speaking of which....how did the people of Earth survive their planet transforming and going right next to the sun like that? At least in Shattered Glass Gaea transported all living creatures OFF the planet first!
  • Lady Jaye and Flint finally get together in this issue...guess they can go ahead and make a little Marissa Faireborn now!
  • Serpentress goes back to her Serpentress persona at the end of this story, and is heavily pregnant with Cobra Commander's baby. So within 9 months of this battle, she had her "horrible" scars healed as well...
  • Megatron ends up on a planet full of magical unicorns, which would appear to be Equestria from My Little Pony.
  • The footage of Hawk's funeral is directly stolen and unedited from the Marvel comics showing Flagg's funeral....that seems a bit lazy to me....
  • Flagg is spared from being executed by presidential order despite having murdered the Jugglers, and being shown in the Oval Office with a gun pointed at someone, most likely the President...WHAT THE HELL?!?!
  • The US7 animals now live with Snake-Eyes and Scarlett without their cybernetics...I thought they needed those to live or something?
  • Also, Snake-Eyes' real name is Francis Witwicky...whatever...
  • Brawn and Cover Girl are getting married and are having a child.....WHAT!?!?
  • The final scene is a reference to "GI Joe Retaliation" where Roadblock and Duke were close friends and both spent time with Roadblock's two daughters.
  • So...Buzzer is alive? Glad he got better from having his head blown up earlier in the series...this of course does beg the question of why Buzzer can survive that, but Hawk couldn't survive a stab wound though?
  • I've decided to name the bus Decepticon "Transit" after the RID2015 bus Decepticon character...it's still one of the only decent things in this abomination of a series.

IDW - Sins of the Wreckers #5

Written and Drawn by: Nick Roche
Colours by: Josh Burcham
Letters by: Tom B. Long
Editor: John Barber
Publisher: Ted Adams
Plot
The Wreckers take on Tarantulas. Tarantulas knows the the Noisemaze is collapsing, but he's prepared this time, and activates a program that causes the entire lab to start mass shifting, however Tarantulas plans to keep Arcee and Verity to study them (as an experiment of Jhiaxus' and an "augmented" human) and wants to just keep Prowl for himself.
Springer decides to rig the pylon that has the Obtenteum growing out of it with explosives, whilst the others distract Tarantulas. During the battle, Tarantulas is being sliced up by Arcee, but appears to be mostly unaffected, until he learns that Impactor was the one who destroyed his original lab, which Tarantulas understands since he knows Prowl would never get his own hands dirty....then he realizes that Prowl lied before about killing Ostaros. Springer communicates to Impactor with progress on his mission, which causes Impactor and Prowl to awkwardly glance at each other, clueing everyone else on the fact that Springer is actually Ostaros.
Tarantulas starts running off towards Springer to reunite with his "child" but Arcee slices off the front of his spider mode's face and throws it to Impactor, to use the eyes to stop the mass displacement of the lab. Prowl drives off with Verity and the Obtenteum to join the other Wreckers outside.

Outside, Tidal Wave is punching Debris, which is still piercing through the wall of the Noisemaze, when the hull starts to breach and several dead Wrecker coffins fall plummet out, including Ironfist's body, which drives Verity to tears and further hatred for Prowl.
Prowl joins up with Kup and Guzzle, the former of which punches Prowl for his actions (totally justified) Verity then explains to the others that they need to feed Tidal Wave with the crystals to overpowerhim, forcing Carnivac to force him into his whale mode, and accelerate the Noisemaze's destruction.
This all goes to plan, and the Noisemaze begins to collapse quicker. The Wreckers run for Debris, except for Springer who is still planting explosives. He asks Impactor to leave without him, but promises that he doesn't intend to die there, and will escape somehow.

Tarantulas leaps into the tunnel to try and save Springer, but Springer still sees him as the enemy and attacks the spider-bot, despite the spider pleading that he loves him, and wants to save him. Springer appears to understand what's happened, just as Impactor sets off the explosives...
Kup, Prowl and Verity return to Debris, and Guzzle follows them in, immediately putting a gun to the heads of both senior Autobots, and plans to kill them for their war crimes, however Impactor stops him by returning to the station just in time and executing Guzzle with his harpoon.

Soon, Prowl runs back into the collapsing Noisemaze before Debris can escape it, so he can rescue Springer as thanks for his help.
In the aftermath, Arcee and Kup return to their work in Earth's orbit, whilst Prowl goes to parts unknown, hated by everyone, and everyone knowing that his crimes WILL be exposed before long. Impactor joins forces with the Mayhems so he can help them in their intended revolution against the people in charge.
Back on Earth, Springer and Verity are watching the Northern Lights and discuss how their reckless lives will one day catch up with them, but are both glad to be back to full health again.
The two of them do not notice a spider hanging from Springer's wheel well.....
Characters
Autobot
Springer/Ostaros - Rocket Car/Helicopter
Impactor - Tank
Prowl - Police Vehicle
Kup - Pick Up Truck
Arcee - Sports Car
Guzzle - Tank Killed by Impactor
Ironfist - Van Dead, Popped out of coffin
Optimus Prime - Truck Cab (Mentioned)
Stakeout - Police Car (Mentioned) Dead

Carnivac - Wolf
Stampy - Rabbit
Overbite - Shark
Tidal Wave - Whale Possibly killed in Noisemaze Implosion
Prowl II - Owl Dead
Random Mayhems

Other Cybertronian
Tarantulas - Spider Possibly killed in Noisemaze Implosion
Jhiaxus - Jet (Mentioned) Dead

Human
Verity Carlo
Notes
  • Amongst the dead/defeated Mayhems is one that looks like Prowl II from Beast Wars. Considering how there have been another Prowl in IDW already, it's totally possible that another Prowl who simply wasn't the "famous one".
  • Springer manages to jump from car down a tunnel to the surface in one leap, marking the reason for his name.
  • It's revealed that Impactor was the one to destroy Mesothulas' lab and knock him into the Noisemaze.
  • Springer is revealed to actually be Ostaros, simply hidden as an Autobot. This explains why his spark and optics colour are connected and are "Matrix blue", unlike other Cybertronians.
  • Tarantulas set his alternate mode eyes to control his lab's systems.
  • What are the odds that Ironfist's corpse would land right near Prowl, the guy who essentially sent him to his death, who was carrying Verity, his friend!
  • Considering  how big he is, and how quickly the Noisemaze implodes itself, it's likely that Tidal Wave was trapped inside it and probably died.
  • Guzzle finally confronts Kup over him killing his friends when he was insane, and gets killed for his trouble.....YAY SUB PLOTS!!!
  • We don't know where Prowl goes at the end of this issue, but no-one wants anything to do with him any more...YAY!
  • Impactor joins the Mayhems at the end of this story, sort of emulating the "Survivors" story arc from Marvel UK, where the surviving members of the Wreckers and Mayhems (led by Carnivac) formed a new team on Earth.
  • At the very end of this comic there's a tiny spider hanging from Springer's wheel well. It's possible that it's just a real spider, but it's more likely to be Tarantulas having shrunk to his tiny size. This ambiguous ending somewhat mirrors Stakeout's unidentified appearance at the end of Last Stand of the Wreckers.
  • So...who wants to bet that this series gets followed up with Impactor/The Mayhems committing attacks on Cybertron's power structure in a mini-series called "Revenge of the Wreckers" or something?

Title: The Dying of the Light Part 5: Rage, Rage
Written by: James Roberts
Art by: Alex Milne
Colours by: Joana LaFuente
Letters by: Tom B. Long & Christa Miesner
Editor: John Barber
Publisher: Ted Adams
Plot
The abandoned Lost Lighters are fighting with the DJD, but are surprisingly doing well despite the impossible odds, with even Chromedome punching Overlord away after being angered by him. Tarn dismisses this as just a "final flail" but Deathsaurus disagrees, thinking they've been tricked somehow.
A little earlier, during the group hug, Ratchet comments that Tailgate's grip feels like a car compactor, which gives Velocity an idea, using her new knowledge about Tailgate affecting the security team who were near him with his spark detonating, so thinks that if they can replicate the effects then the Lost Lighters can have a fighting shot however to do this the person who's spark detonates will be put to death's door. Nautica and Ratchet think that it's amoral to do this to someone, but Skids volunteers.
Skids tells Chromedome to reveal his hidden memories to him, as he knoes that they will be an extreme trauma and will give the crew a power boost. Chromedome agrees due to the circumstances, and triggers his memories by mentioning Quark's name. This causes his spark to detonate, combined with the residual temporal energies in his system to give an added power boost to the rest of the team.

Back in the present, the Lost Lighters are taking down the DJD, and Rodimus even uses his old "flame out" trick to incinerate a few of them, but then suddenly starts losing power.
Back at the Fortress, Skids is hooked up to a life support machine, with his spark being just a pinprick now. Megatron comes in when Ratchet asks him to help look after Skids whilst Ratchet joins the fight. Megatron admits that he's not afraid of the DJD, but he's afraid of what will happen when he fights again, and worries he'll turn evil once more if he has any violence exposed to him.
Ratchet reveals that Megatron's "Fool's Energon" is just a placebo, as any real inhibitors wouldn't work due to what Shockwave did to Megatron's internal organs, and that Megatron has been purposely supressing his power to not harm anyone, like Whirl, Perceptor and Tailgate over the past year or two. On the monitor behind Ratchet, Megatron sees Tarn tearing Ravage into two pieces.
Skidsfalls out of his bed and tries to find Brainstorm to tell him what happened to Quark in Grindcore prison, as that was the whole purpose to him creating his time machine for hundreds of years. Ratchet tries to get Megatron to help him put Skids back on life-support, but the former Decepticon has gone missing....

On the battlefield, Brainstorm attacks Lugnut, but finds that his power boost, as well as everyone else's has been depleted, he bumps into Skids' memorial statue, but notices that his holographic statue has just vanished, as Skids has just passed away as Ratchet watched.
The Lost Lighters are surrounded by the DJD, and all seems lost, until a sudden fusion cannon blast takes out several members of the DJD. Megatron has taken the new fusion cannon built by Brainstorm and has joined the battle

Megatron slaughters the DJD, nearby Tarn has Vos recall the rest of the main DJD to safety, whilst having Deathsaurus's troops sacrifice themselves to weaken Megatron for them.
Megatron collects up Ravage's front half and gives him to Rodimus to return to the Fortress with so Ratchet can save him. The Lost Lighters leave Megatron to take down the DJD alone.
Megatron's fusion cannon is shot by Nickel and Vos, rendering it useless, and Megatron appears to give up, falling to his knees.
Inside the Fortress, the crew have learned about Skids' death, which visibly hits Nautica the worst, and the crew watch the footage of the battle on the monitors whilst Velocity starts working on Ravage's injuries.
Tarn and Overlord approach the defeated Megatron, aim their cannons at him and decide to execute him together.

Three gun shots ring through the air.....

Notes
  • Maximus Ambus' armour is large enough for at least two Mini-bots to sit in the shoulder sections. This makes it somewhat similar to the Optimus Maximus toy from Transformers Prime who had a similar feature.
  • Rewind has still not told Ambus about what happened to his brother.
  • Ambus comments that he can't "deal with that now" in this issue. This is a reference to the 80's movie.
  • Velocity appears to have some super-speed abilities here. This could be partly due to the effects of Skids' spark detonating, or a skill we simply haven't seen before.
  • Overlord claims that he slowly killed the original Rewind to Chromedome in this issue, but due to the physics of the Slow Cell, it seems unlikely that he had the time to do anything to the poor little guy.
  • We get to see Deathsaurus' alternate mode this issue. It is both adorable and fearsome :)
  • Skids' memories of Grindcore and what happened to Quark are fully revealed to him in this issue...it doesn't go too well!
  • Rodimus uses his "flame out" ability that we last saw in Maximum Dinobots. It appears to have a side-effect of him using up a lot of energy in the process however.
  • Megatron's "Fool's Energon" is revealed to just be a placebo, and is simply just unfiltered and untreated Energon to make it taste different. Megatron's apparent changes since his trial are therefore purely psychosomatic.
  • Tarn tears Ravage in half just like how Overlord did to Guzzle back in Last Stand of the Wreckers.
  • Brainstorm uses his vehicle mode jet boosters to propel himself during his fight with Lugnut
  • Megatron's fusion cannon blasts are now Autobot-orange instead of Decepticon-purple.
  • Several of the Lost Lighters who were part of the battle with the DJD are unnacounted for at the end of this issue, including Swerve, Rewind, Ambus, Cyclonus and Tailgate. Nightbeat and Rung are still investigating the hollow planet under the fortress. Lets hope the former guys are all okay.
  • Nautica hugging her dear friend Skids' corpse and crying into his chest is an image that will haunt me for the rest of my days....I JUST GOT THE SKIDS TOY AS WELL!!!! BLOODY ROBERTS!!!

Plot
An injured Decepticon stumbles around in the wilderness outside Iacon, and dies from his injuries, whilst Obsidian observes this from above.
In the city, the integrated populations of Cybertron and the colonies are going about their everyday routines, when Ironhide is summoned to a meeting of the Justice Committee. There, he is introduced to the arranged Council of Worlds members as a private security officer. Obsidian reveals that he wants Ironhide to investigate the mysterious death of the Decepticon, who was a supplier for Carcer, and was just the most recent, and most fatale victim of a string of attacks on Decepticons lately via Mnemosurgery.
Obsidian believes that the Mnemosurgery attacks are being caused by Starscream and his police force, because of recent rumours of Swindle still being alive, despite being a casualty of the Combiner Wars (at Starscream's own hands too). Starscream is annoyed, but agrees to consider allowing Ironhide to investigate the situation.

A little further away, the surviving Combaticons are hanging out in their apartment, discussing some work they've been offered, but Onslaught is tired from hunting for Swindle, but with no luck, he's been receiving messages from an unidentified person, who's told him that Swindle is still alive, despite all appearances. Onslaught leaves to search the sewers again, and Blast Off finds another message from the informant. The message leads him to a set of Badgeless armour, which he puts on to do his own investigations.
Ironhide leaves the meeting to head to Maccadam's where a drunk Decepticons is causing some problems for the colonist patrons, whom he escorts away, meanwhile Blast Off replaces one of the Badgeless officers with himself to infiltrate their ranks.

Ironhide and the Decepticon leave the bar, but the Decepticon is being loud and annoys the nearby Badgeless, and makes the mistake of claiming "Swindle Lives". The Badgeless attack him and threaten to take his memories away, which Ironhide overhears. The Decepticon panics and runs away down an alleyway. The Badgeless appear to shoot the Decepticon, and he is soon found dead by Ironhide, with the Badgeless standing over him with smoking guns nearby.
A riot starts to brew when some of the crowd begin to swarm the Badgeless, and one of the Badgeless (likely Blast Off) sneaks away. The crowd gets scared off when the Badgeless start shooting into the air. Windblade, Obsidian and Starscream arrive, and Ironhide directly confronts Starscream about his troops actually being responsible for the attacks.
Obsidian condemns Starscream and says he'll inform the council and Elita One of this revelation, before flying away. Starscream admits to Windblade what he's authorized to be done, but threatens her with making the incident with Chromia (from Windblade Volume 1) public, and making it seem like an attempted insurrection from Caminus to destroy Cybertron.

Circuit and Longtooth appear through the crowd to get a quote from Starscream about the Badgeless attack, Starscream tries to deny that the Badgeless attacked the Decepticon, but Circuit reveals that footage of the attack has been spreading across the city already....

Notes
  • This series continues from where Windblade Volume two ended. It was originally meant to be released earlier in the year, but was pushed back (likely due to Sins of the Wreckers being delayed too)
  • Chromia has a couple of names carved into her scalp, as seen when she briefly has her helmet off...I wonder if that will have a role later in the series?
  • Fat Tankor is shown in vehicle mode, but without a tank turret, possibly meaning that weaponized vehicle modes on peace-time Cybertron are prohibited in some manner.
  • Following the rise of the Badgeless on Cybertron, as shown in the previous two Windblade series' Ironhide has set up his own security firm, since no-one trusts them, or Starscream.
  • The Combaticons didn't like Swindle, but they want to find him because they believe he's the "key" to some big secret and the process of combination. Swindle was only ever shown as part of their team during Primacy.
  • Considering how he was the one to spirit Prowl away following the Combiner Wars, it is POSSIBLE that Rattrap somehow managed to fake Swindle's death. It's also very likely that he is DC-357 if this is the case, since it would be easy for him to get a Badgeless suit as well.
  • It's revealed here that the Badgeless all look and sound the same because they use holographic armour and voice synthesizers
  • Chromia and Strika have apparently made "friends" and now act as sparring partners for each other.
  • "Drunkatron" confusing Greenlight and Lancer for Camiens is probably due to the initial belief of fans that all denizens of Caminus were female (which was later proven false during Combiner Wars of course)
  • Whilst not confirmed yet, it's likely that Blast Off was the one who attacked "Drunkatron", just to work up the crowd more.
  • This issue appears to take place during the early parts of "All Hail Optimus" as Circuit is still on Cybertron here. It's likely that Starscream sent Circuit to Earth, in the middle of a hostile encounter, as some sort of revenge for Circuit airing the footage of "Drunkatron" being murdered by the Badgeless.
