Storyline

Blurr wins a race at the Cybertron race track and later gets a tune up by his pit crew, but due to his own ego he ditches them and goes to an exclusive bar, The Circle with his rival Fasttrack. The two celebrate and live the high life, however that night the Race Track is attacked by Decepticon terrorists and all future races are called off, at least until the war ends. Later Blurr returns to his pit area where he sees Piston leaving, he tells Blurr that he's joining the Autobots and hopes to help them out. Blurr doesn't understand how anyone can enjoy something more than racing however and brushes it off.
Blurr goes to The Circle again that night but finds it dead quiet thanks to the war, whilst sitting alone and drinking his energon he is approached by Starscream who tries to recruit him to the Decepticon cause and he starts to consider joining the war.
Later Blurr leaves The Circle and goes for a drive when he gets caught in a gunfight, but he's protected by Ironhide and taken behind an Autobot barricade where he sees both Piston and Fasttrack dead and with opposing faction insignias. Blurr meets Optimus who tells him that Zeta Prime is going to be assassinated unless someone can get to him quickly and save him and he tries to get Blurr to join.
Blurr runs off, seemingly to just run, when he sees a Decepticon team heading towards Iacon, he rushes into them and then speeds off to protect Zeta Prime, having made his choice.

Notes
  • Zeta Prime is mentioned here, this was a retcon as All Hail Megatron stated that Megatron killed 2 Primes, however the only previous 2 Primes to be named in this continuity were Sentinel and Nova, and only Sentinel was killed by Megatron.
  • Most of the characters seen in this comic are just generics :(
  • Blurr's limo is based on TFA Bulkhead's vehicle mode

My Thoughts

Art

Before the terrorist attacks on the race track the comic is pretty bright, but afterwards it's mostly darkened, showing the change in society on the planet in those instances. The art itself is very strong and detailed

Story

This shows what Blurr did before his introduction in All Hail Megatron, and also gives some back story to both him and Cybertron whilst also showing why Blurr is so fast as well.

Continuity

This shows how Blurr joined the Autobots. Starscream is shown to be recruiting Transformers to the Decepticon ranks, which means it's set after Megatron: Origin. Ironhide is shown here to be an Autobot soldier, it's later revealed that he was a security guard at the Race Track before that (and he saves Blurr from being killed here incidentally).

Other

The Race Promoter seems to be based loosely on the Armorhide mold from the Movie One toyline (a repaint of Cybertron Armorhide).

Tracks - Sports Car (Cybertronian Hover Car in flashback)

Tantrum - Cybertronian Armoured Vehicle (Flashback Only)
Rampage - Cybertronian Armoured Vehicle (Flashback Only)
Divebomb - Cybertronian Jet (Flashback Only)
Megatron - Cybertronian Tank (Mentioned)

Storyline

The Autobots are stranded on Cybertron thanks to the Decepticons and tensions are growing thin, so Tracks decides to tell the team a story from his past.
In the past Tracks's team was torn apart by the Decepticons and a mysterious transformer (Jazz) arrives and helps out a blinded Tracks, however his rescue craft is blasted out of the sky, so the two Autobots have to walk to safety since Track's transformation cog isn't working properly, and he can't see anyway. The Predacons watch the two Autobots from a high rise after destroying the Autobot craft.
The two Autobots try to get to safety, but whilst resting in a damaged building they are called out by the Predacons, which totally freaks out Tracks due to their reputations. Jazz takes on the Predacons and quickly takes out Headstrong, Rampage and Tantrum however Razorclaw and Divebomb keep coming.
Now inspired by Jazz's bravery Tracks transforms an dblindly rams into Divebomb allowing Jazz to take on Razorclaw one to one. After a long battle Razorclaw starts to get the upper hand and goes to make a final blow when an Autobot craft arrives and Bluestreak saves him with a blast from his cannon, however Razorclaw just runs away before he can be captured.
Jazz and Tracks are taken aboard the ship and Tracks is treated by First Aid, whilst Jazz just sleeps. The craft arrives back to base where Jazz is taken away for treatment and Tracks regains consciousness and he asks Ironhide who the Autobot was that saved him, however Ironhide says that he doesn't want to be named and that he just did what he did because he's an Autobot, like he is and to never forget what that means.
Back in the present Tracks finishes his story and leaves the crowd happy and Prowl heads outside and tells Jazz that Tracks told everyone a story about some super Autobot who beat five Predacons himself, Jazz says the he's glad he told it as they needed some hope at the base, then he thanks Tracks for telling the story and both give a knowing smile to each other.

Notes
  • Due to them being still damaged and only the original set of Autobots who were sent to Cybertron being present, it seems likely that this comic's present day scenes were set in the early issues of All Hail Megatron (issue 1-3) or before even that.
  • The point of this story is that it doesn't matter who you are, it's what you do that counts, especially in war, so whether you're a famous Autobot or not doesn't matter. That's why neither Jazz nor Tracks seem to mention this to each other, as that would ruin the whole point of the story.
  • Oddly this is the only time that Tracks does anything of real note in All Hail Megatron!

My Thoughts

Art

The artwork in this comic is very different, it's quite cartoon like and the colours look a bit more saturated than normal.

Story

This comic's story is pure filler and just gives some back story to Jazz and Tracks, as well as having the Predacons appear for the first time in a while

Continuity

This story's present scenes are set in the early parts of All Hail Megatron, the flashbacks are from before the Thunderhead incident
The point of this story is that it doesn't matter who you are, it's what you do that counts, especially in war, so whether you're a famous Autobot or not doesn't matter - This is later mentioned again in Last Stand of the Wreckers where the Wreckers comment that they aren't "Ark-worthy" which is why they're expendable.

CLIFFJUMPER

Characters

Autobot

Cliffjumper - Cybertronian Car

Decepticon

Decepticon Hunting Team Killed by Cliffjumper

Other

Kita Killed by Decepticons
Coll
Kita and Coll's Parents (Mentioned) Died of illness
Coll's adopted parents

Storyline

Cliffjumper has crashed on an alien world and he starts sending out a distress beacon for someone to rescue him when he meets two aliens, Kita and Coll and they take him into their home where he learns that they were orphaned some time ago, whilst there he starts to question his life-view. The next day Cliffjumper, whilst waiting to be rescued, helps Kita and Coll out on their farm when a Decepticon ship appears in the sky.
Cliffjumper and Kita run to hide, but Coll is still outside when the Decepticons arrive. Kita runs out to protect him but gets captured, whilst most of the Decepticons hunt down any Decepticons in the area. Three of the Decepticons go out to hunt for Autobots, but all get slaughtered by Cliffjumper. The Decepticons threaten to kill Kita and Cliffjumper comes out and surrenders, which shocks the Decepticons as Autobots would normally just see local lifeforms as acceptable losses .
The Decepticons explain to Kita that Cliffjumper is an assassin and he killed five of their troops and their commander and that they've been hunting him ever since. Kita starts the cry and the Decepticon shoves her to the ground hardly, then drops a bomb on the floor, Cliffjumper jumps to protect Coll and Kita from the blast. Cliffjumper runs to the barn with Kita and Coll under his arms and hides in there, whilst hiding Kita dies from her injuries and Cliffjumper tells Coll to stay with Kita.
Another batch of Decepticons arrive on the planet after being called in as reinforcements and when the commander realises that it's Cliffjumper they're hunting he starts to panic, but too late as Cliffjumper rushes out of the barn firing his weapons.
Later Cliffjumper buries Kita next to her parent's graves and uses the Decepticon who killed her's head as a hammer to wedge in her marker, he takes Coll to another family and they adopt him, and Cliffjumper takes the Decepticon's ship and heads back home.

Notes
  • No Transformers transform here
  • None of the Decepticons are named/known characters
  • Maybe a coincidence, but one of the Decepticons killed uses the colourscheme of the 2005-2009 Collector's Club Incentive figures
  • HA! Cliffjumper uses a Decepticon head as a hammer!

My Thoughts

Art

This comic has a very strong anime vibe to it, with even the humanoid aliens having large eyes and exaggerated features etc, the colours are mostly brighter than usual as well.

Story

Just a filler story again, though it does bring up the issue of how the Autobots are a bit corrupt as well and they need to change their policies about aliens etc.

Continuity

This is set some time before All Hail Megatron, that's all we can tell

DRIFT

Characters

Autobot

Kup - Pick Up Truck
Springer - Helicopter/Rocket Car
Drift - Speeder
Roadbuster - Armoured Vehicle
Perceptor - Treaded Vehicle Badly injured by Turmoil
Twin Twist - Drill Tank
Topspin - Jet
Whirl - Helicopter
Sandstorm - Buggy/Jet
Broadside - Jet
Blurr - Race Car
Blaster - Acoustic Tank

Decepticon

Turmoil - Tank Killed by Drift
Decepticon Troops Killed by Autobots and Drift
Deadlock - Speeder (Mentioned) Became Drift

Other

Female Alien
Two Bodyguards
Aliens (many types)

Storyline

Drift collects some access codes to get onto Turmoil's ship and he learns that Turmoil has some Autobot prisoners on-board, he goes to try and rescue them as part of his ongoing redemption. Drift infiltrates the ship and tries sneaking into the cell block when suddenly the wall explodes and Kup and his troops waltz in. Turmoil is informed of the intruders and immediately knows that Kup is involved. Drift helps Kup's team in taking on the Decepticons when Kup and Perceptor start complimenting him on his design and the swords, which Kup recognises. Kup tells Drift to tag along with them, and Drift tells him that he knows exactly where the prisoners are.
The captured Autobots are freed from their cells thanks to Drift and Perceptor tells the others that the Decepticons are breaking in, he tries recalibrating the locks when things go quiet and Turmoil blasts a hole through the door and Perceptor. The Autobots take on the Decepticons and Drift rushes to try and rescue Perceptor when he's stopped by Turmoil who recognises his voice as Deadlock's, a Decepticon Traitor. Kup, Roadbuster and Springer protect Drift but Turmoil blasts a hole in the wall behind them and Kup and Droft fall through it to a lower deck.
On the lower floor Kup asks Drift if it's true that he was Deadlock and he confirms it, but also says that he's changed now thanks to a mysterious third faction whom he found when he wa son the run. Kup believes him as he tried to rescue Perceptor before, and helped them rescue the other Autobots.
Drift leads Kup to the engine room and rigs the engine to detonate before the ship starts to take off again, and Drift reveals that he was Turmoil's Second in Command before his betrayal, explaining his knowledge of the ship. Turmoil blasts into the room and Drift decides to take him on, even knocking Kup through a hole in the wall to keep him from interfering. Drift manages to kill Turmoil whilst trying to explain how he thinks the war is pointless etc, but the AUtobots are closer to having the right ideals. As the ship starts to tear itself apart Drift transforms to speeder mode and races to get Perceptor, he grabs him and jumps out of the ship
Later the team are getting ready to reunite with the Trion (their ship) and Kup tells Drift that he wants him to join his new team and join the Autobots. Drift agrees, but Springer is wary about allowing a former Decepticon into the team, but Kup just says that everyone deserves a second chance.

Notes
  • The two aliens with the female alien at the start are the same species as Garnak
  • Drift's outfit is the same as Wing's
  • The aliens in this comic are almost all Transformer sized...YIKES!
  • This story clearly shows that the other alien species' in the galaxy hate Transformers because of their war
  • It's never revealed why Blaster and Blurr were hanging out with the Wreckers before this story
  • It's also never revealed where Twin Twist, Topspin, Sandstorm and Whirl went between this story and the next chronological story, or why they weren't in Kup's team
  • Despite Turmoil having many named characters in the Drift mini-series on his ship, none of them are seen here and are replaced by a bunch of generics :(

My Thoughts

Art

The artwork itself in this story is very highly detailed and the colours arevery nicely applied and produce texture etc, very fitting for such a nice story

Story

This story gives Drift some back story and explains how he ended up with Kup's team

Continuity

Drift's back story is later fully revealed in his Drift Miniseries
This story is continued in the Coda issue Lost & Found where Perceptor's fate and how Hot Rod joins the team are both revealed
Perceptor is with the group to monitor Kup and give him Cy-Gars as shown in the Coda issue "Everything in its Right Place"

METROPLEX

Characters

Autobot

Metroplex - City/Space Shuttle
Goldbug - Speeder Injured by Sixshot
Freeway - Speeder Injured by Sixshot
Chase - Speeder Injured by Sixshot
Searchlight - Speeder
Wideload - Treaded Vehicle Injured by Sixshot
Rollbar - Treaded Vehicle
Scrounge - Wheel Killed by Sixshot
Orvus Base Crew Killed by Sixshot

Decepticon

Sixshot - Car/Gun/Jet/Tank/Winged Wolf
Megatron - Gun (Mentioned)

Expansion

Jhiaxus - Jet (Mentioned)

Storyline

At the start of Megatron's Coordinated attack Sixshot attacks the Orvus base above Salvvatan VI and kills everyone, except for the Throttlebots who escaped on a small shuttle. A couple of hours later the Thorttlebots land on Salvvaton VIII as they detected Cybertronian life there (there isn't meant to be). Sixshot however has continued to chase the survivors and shoots down their ship, the Throttlebots speed away as fast as possible. The team arrive in a deserted city, but Chase finds a store room fully stocked with Energon Cubes and then Sixshot arrives and tells them to hand over the lab's information and he'll kill them quickly, but they don't have the data and never did.
The Autobots speed away from the powerful Decepticon who quickly takes out Chase, Freeway and Wideload and then corners the other three, wo decide to try and fight back. Rollbar manages to speed Sixshot into a wall, which activates a security alarm, which confuses Sixshot, but not enough to stop him from taking on the other two Autobots. He gets ready to kill Searchlight when suddenly Metroplex appears behind him (having transformed from part of the city) and pounds him several times until he stops moving.
Metroplex says that he has to leave before his cargo is found by the Decepticons, the Throttlebots ask him to stay and help them with the war, but he refuses, tells them where a spare shuttle is and to take any supplies they need from his city banks, then transforms to space shuttle mode and takes off. The Throttlebots wander off to find their friends, supplies and ship and wonder what Metroplex's mission is, not seeing Sixshot start to twitch from the crater he's now in....

Notes
  • Metroplex is HUUUUGE!
  • Scrounge is the only named crewman on the Orvus Base to be killed by Sixshot
  • It's unclear whether Sixshot actually killed any of the Throttlebots or not as none of them have been seen since this comic (so far)
  • Goldbug has nothing to do with Bumblebee in this continuity

My Thoughts

Art

This comic is very nicely drawn and coloured, the combination works very well indeed

Story

This story follows the Throttlebots trying to evade Sixshot inside a strange city... It's mostly filler but reveals what happened to Sixshot.

Continuity

This story is set right at the start of All Hail Megatron during the coordinated attacks across the galaxy. Sixshot was last seen around in Devastation (free) and Revelation (controlled), it was mentioned that he helped the Decepticons with teh Space Bridges in All Hail Megatron. Metroplex is later revealed to have been guarding Alpha Trion and possibly his atmosphere fixing device for Cybertron, as he's next seen on Cybertron in the Ironhide series.

Other

Searchlight has been seen several times in IDW, but had to be redesigned for this comic to help him match the other Throttlebots.
