Plot
In the dark 2015, the few remaining Autobots are fighting, and dying to the giant Decepticon, Watchtower.
Gigawatt gets fixed by Doc Brown, allowing him to time travel again, but before he can, he gets shot by Watchtower, protecting Marty and Doc. Gigawatt transforms and Marty gets inside regardless, but he can't build up speed, forcing Skilz and Doc to push the Autobot to speed him up to 88 mphnto time travel. They're successful, but everyone else is dead, with Watchtower about to step on the left behind Doc and Skilz...

Gigawatt and Marty arrive in 1984, and intercept Rumble in the real time machine, his human slave, Biff Tannen turns against Rumble, but the Decepticon manges to escape after shooting Gigawatt again.

Rumble makes his way into the crashed Ark, intending to wake up the Decepticons, but finds the Autobots having been awoken by Gigawatt and Marty already. Rumble tries to escape again, but Biff and Marty dump the collected Energon on top of him, crushing him.

In the aftermath, Optimus thanks Marty for his help, but he's distracted by the dying Gigawatt. Optimus convinces him to return the time machine to Doc Brown in the real 2015, and end this time disruption...

Marty arrives in 2015, to see everything back to normal, and Doc shows him that Gigawatt is alive after all, thanks to the Autobots and their allies. Optimus reveals that in his time, the Autobots are living in secret, protecting the humans, but can now fight and live in the open, thanks to his work.

Gigawatt, Marty and Skilz return to 1985, where life is back to normal, or better. Gigawatt and Skilz look over their human friend from a distance, as Marty is gifted a new truck from his parents...one which weilds a small purple insignia on the grill...

Notes
  • It's kind of ironic that the series about time travel is several months overdue, isn't it?
  • The giant Decepticon isn't named in the comic itself, but the rollcall page informs us he is "Watchtower". Due to his size, he is probably a Titan as well.
  • We never saw the future, successful version of Megatron in this series, maybe because the concept would destroy our minds?
  • Rumble recognises Gigawatt as an Autobot, but he was a Decepticon originally. Unless he was always supposed to join the Autobots after waking up on the Ark?
  • Biff's outfit in the good future seems to be based on the regular outfits of the Witwicky family in the G1 cartoon
  • The ending implies that Marty's new truck is a Decepticon in disguise, it's unclear who it could be, but the first thing that comes to mind would be one of the Dreads from the Movie series.

IDW - Transformers/Back To The Future #3

Plot
The Constructions find Scrapper's deactivated body and blame Biff for it, forcing the human to run. Bonecrusher goes after him, but the Construction gets blasted by Doc Brown's nullifier, just like Scrapper.
Doc explains his plan to try make contact with the Autobots using a nearby communications tower to get them to help Emmet recover his time machine to fix the timeline. When they reach their destination, Doc manages to get out a signal, but Biff, who has taken his nullifier, shoots the tower, shutting it down, and escorts his new prisoners back to the Constructions, and their newly arrived boss, Starscream.

Having picked up the signal, Rodimus and his small band of remaining Autobots head to Hill Valley, where they see Biff about to execute Doc and Marty's parents, Marty however grabs some piping and smashes Biff's exosuit gun, saving them.

The Autobots join in and attack the Decepticons, stealing the nullifier back from Biff and uses it to knock down Biff and the remaining Constructicons, using Skilz's new hoverboard mode to do so. Starscream gets knocked out by a powerful punch from Rodimus, and the Decepticons in the area are all defeated...

Suddenly, the Hill Valley Courthouse transforms into a giant robot, looming over them all....

Notes
  • It's unclear yet if Doc's Alpha-Wave Ionic Nullifier is fatal to Cybertronians, Scrapper is mentioned as being "deactivated" and it does damage the communications tower, but he never says it has killed any of them. It's likely it's designed to just shut down their systems, putting them in stasis lock.
  • Biff's new Exosuit is based on the ones used by the humans in season three and four of the G1 cartoon, but more heavily armoured than theirs were.
  • Despite scanning a Skysled for his new alternate mode, Skilz takes on a hoverboard design, reminiscent of Marty's one from the future scenes of the Back To The Future movies, possibly meaning he just scanned the engine parts to upgrade his existing skateboard mode
  • The giant Courthouse robot at the end of the issue isn't identified, or even hinted at by any of the Decepticons during this issue, baking me believe it's possible it's not a Decepticon, and couild be anyone really (my hopes are for a Vector Prime type character)

IDW - Transformers/Back To The Future #2

Written by: Cavan Scott
Art by: Juan  Samu

Letters by: Neil Uyetake
Editors: David Mariotte & Chase Marotz

Plot
In 1985, Gigawatt tries to get Marty to help him to save the future, but the human is scared at the sight of another giant robot, assuming he's with the ones who have enslaved his family. As a result, Starscream attacks the newcomer, and almost takes him out, until Marty throws the skateboard he's carrying at the Seeker, and it unexpectedly transforms into the Autobot Skilz, who manages to knock down Starscream, allowing Gigawatt to transform, and Marty and Skilz get onboard, and they time travel to 2015.

The 2015 they arrive in, turns out to be one where the Decepticons have been ruling the planet for over 30 years now, with the remaining Autobots led by Rodimus Prime. Once there, the Autobots explain to Marty that Emmett Brown is responsible for this future, as when he travelled to the original version of 2015, Rumble stowed away, a D feigned innocence to get Emmett to fix him up from his I juries following the earlier battle with Bumblebee.
Now in the future, Rumble contacts Megatron, telling him that he's finally gotten ahold of the time machine, and gives his location in Emmett's lab, but when he arrives, Megatron is revealed to be beaten down and near dead, having been overwhelmed by Optimus and the Autobots. seeing this sad sight, Rumble steals the time machine and travels back to 1974, where he enslaved Biff Tannen, and forces him to help him collect Energon for ten years.

In 1984, the future version of Rumble leads Tannen to Mt St Hillary, where they activate the Ark, and command it to only revive the Decepticons, allowing Megatron to slaughter most of the still sleeping Autobots. Afterwards, Megatron decides they don't need two Rumbles, so he kills the time travelling one, but saves his head, so the scientists can study it to learn his secrets.
One of the Decepticons, Gigawatt, realized just how evil Megatron is when he executed some humans for their teams getting behind schedule, so he scans the captured Time Machine, and escapes, quitting the Decepticons, but gets shot in his chest, damaging his flux capacitor.

Afterwards, Gigawatt joined the Autobot resistance and told them about what happened. Gigawatt intended to travel to 1974 to stop Rumble's mission from the start, but his flux capacitor's damage sent him to 1985 instead, where he happened to find Marty. Rodimus, knowing of Marty from their data on Emmett Brown ask if he knows how to fix the flux capacitor, but he states that the doctor is the only one who knows his to do that, and they don't know where he is now...

Meanwhile, in the Hill Valley Workcamp, George McFly stumbles out of exhausting, prompting Scrapper to prepare to terminate him and his wife, until he is shot from behind and electrocuted by Emmett Brown, who asks the McFlys if they will help him to save the world from the Decepticons...

Notes
  • Skilz, the newly introduced Autobot who was disguised as a skateboard is (obviously) based on the Armada character, Grinder, but with a slimmer body and new colour scheme
  • From the characters available in the dark future of 2015, we can assume that bumblebee was the only survivor of the Autobot slaughter in 1984, with Rodimus, and others like Skilz arriving afterwards from Cybertron.
  • Due to the nature of time travel, some alternate versions of the same character appear in this issue, so the character list might get a bit confusing....I'm assuming this will be the same in the next two issues too...
  • As I guessed in the last issue, Rumble snuck aboard the DeLorean and used it to manipulate the timeline in the Decepticon's favour.
  • Gigawatt being a former Decepticon could be a reference to his toy not featuring an Autobot insignia.
  • So, if Gigawatt can scan the DeLorean to turn into a fully working time machine...can the others do the same too?

TFCC #66 - Another Light Part 6

Title: The Future Buried...
Writers: Jesse Wittenrich & Pete Sinclair
Pencils & Inks: Eryck Webb
Colours: Evan Gauntt
Letters: Jesse Wittenrich
Managing Editor: Pete Sinclair
Plot
The heroic Decepticons head back towards the Classicsverse Earth, as Galvatron has had a bad feeling about the planet since the walls around the Multiverse were closed off, and feels that he, and the others need to go there to help. Ultra Mammoth, on Earth, tells Galvatron that there's nothing happening, when suddenly a wave of energy hits across the planet and all Humans and Pretenders with Human-like shells are vanished, confusing everyone.
Under the Ironworks base, Perceptor and Wheeljack examine the Rarefied Energon pool and notice that it's starting to change, almost like it is alive...

On Cybertron, Nova Prime and his "Knights of Unicron" have arrested the evil Autobots, but Unicron contacts Nova and warns him that Rodimus is still alive and is about to enact a horrible plan.
Suddenly the entire planet begins to fall apart, Nova gets knocked down a panel, but manages to hang on by his axe. Rodimus reappears and declares himself the new Prime, and tells his Autobots to leave the planet as it's too dangerous to stay on now.
Moments later the Autobots have left the planet on the shuttles and Sky Lynx whilst the planet finishes it's change...into the physical form of their creator god Primus! Primus is glad to see the stars again, but decides that the Classicsverse Earth, that is sitting in orbit of Cybertron is in his way, so he attacks.

Primus' first target on Earth is the Ironworks base, which he easily destroys using a laser from orbit. Galvatron's shuttles arrive in the area, where they are horrified to find Primus attacking the foreign Earth, and then they too are attacked by their own god.
On the planet, the remaining Transformers are preparing to meet their fates, since their only shuttles were destroyed in the Ironworks base, but Grimlock manages to evade Primus long enough to get back to the planet and rescue the stranded Transformers, allowing them all to leave safely.
Primus prepares to unleash his full power on Earth, when suddenly the now uninhabited planet explodes and a large female Transformer emerges from it's rubble, declaring herself Gaea, and as Primus' "sister". Gaea explains that the Thirteen hid her inside the Classics Earth, just in case she was ever needed for battle, but she is shocked that she has to face off with Primus of all possible threats.

On Primus' body, the Knights of Unicron manage to rescue the still dangling Nova Prime, and they prepare to help Gaea against Primus. Primus attacks Gaea at full power, but she's able to easily deflect his attacks, she manages to blast out one of his eyes, whilst Nova Prime and his team take out the other one, blinding Primus in the process, before they fly off to safety. Primus contacts Rodimus for help, but the new Prime declines the request, simply saying that he'd be no help against her. Gaea finally shoots her brother in the back, destroying this dark version of him entirely, save his head.

In the aftermath, Gaea transforms into a new Cybertron, and Primus' head becomes a new moon for the planet. The good Autobots and Decepticons repopulate the planet and live in peace, with the Knights of Unicron acting as guardians for the planet. The factions have no put aside their weapons in favour of peace, and plan to rebuild their lost civilization...

From the shadows however, the Classicsverse Megatron has arrived on this new Cybertron, and begins his plans to conquer the world....

Notes
  • This story finally concludes the plot line of the Rarefied Energon that began in the third year of the comic.
  • In case you never noticed it, most of the action and dialogue in this comic continues to paraphrase the 1986 Transformers Movie.
  • Rodimus officially takes on the "Prime" title now.
  • Primus' robot mode is based on his Cybertron Supreme class toy, but in Unicron's Energon series colour scheme.
  • Primus attacking Earth (in a way similar to Unicron's attack on Cybertron in the Movie) could be a reference to an early draft of the Movie where Unicron did indeed attack Earth instead of Cybertron.
  • So....did Grimlock rescue the Classics Decepticons as well? I can't really see Gigatron and the others being rescued by the SG Autobots, nor by Grimlock and his crew.
  • Gaea being the core of Earth, and an enemy of Cybertron is likely a reference to the Aligned continuity version of Unicron
  • Nova and his crew use their guns as propulsion whilst flying, much like how G1 Galvatron commonly does.
  • Megatron's troops are heavily shadowed, but we can probably assume they have some relation to his crew from the Beast Wars: Shattered Glass series.
  • Gaea sent the humans, and human-like beings on her surface to another Universe to keep them safe from her transformation. It's also revealed in the next storyline that she sent the animals along too.
  • SG Scourge appears to be using the usual G1 character model by mistake in this issue.
  • After Spike vanishes his Headmaster control helmet is seen falling from where his head was, but he wasn't wearing the helmet....
  • Ironhide is seen behind Grimlock on the Autobot shuttle, but he's coloured in grey and blue.
  • Strongarm's colour scheme on the back page appears to be based on the Gobot Crasher...I would like a toy of this!
  • Windblade's appears to be based on Chromia's for some reason.

IDW - Regeneration One #100

Title: The War to End all Wars Part 5
Writer: Simon Furman
Pencils: Andrew Wildman (1-10), Geoff Senior (11-20), Guido Guidi (21-32)
Inks: Stephen Baskerville (1-10, 21-32), Geoff Senior (11-20)
Colourist: John-Paul Bove
Letterer: Chris Mowry
Editor: John Barber
Editor-in-Chief: Chris Ryall
Plot
Rodimus and his armada return to Cybertron following their battle with Jhiaxus, where they find no-one around, and the planet heavily aged and decayed. Rodimus is convinced that Primus, or the being who has taken his place is responsible when the crew are attacked by shadow leeches. Perceptor manages to analyse one, and discovers that it was once Iguanus, a Decepticon! This means that everyone who was left behind on Cybertron has been turned into one of these leeches who are able to drain living Transformers of their energy.
The Autobots proceed to fight off the leeches, and Rodimus has Jetfire fetch the sword of Primus from his base so they can use it to hopefully stop the leeches.
The Dinobots soon turn up, having been spared by the energy wave that hit Cybertron because Grimlock has immunity (following his possession) and the other Dinobots being in close proximity to him. Rodimus stops Grimlock from just slaughtering the leeches as he hopes to restore them before long.
Jetfire returns with the sword, and Rodimus activates it, sending out a wave of energy that protects them and restores a small area to normal, causing the leeches to flee.

Now they have a free moment Rodimus learns that all this began when Galvatron attacked the Star Chamber and knocked out all the space bridges except the ones between Nebulos, Cybertron and Earth, but before anything could be done about him the whole planet was transformed.
Rodimus reveals to the team that after his experience in the Primus Chamber and seeing a part of the Multiverse he consulted the Covenant of Primus, which told him that Nebulos, Earth and Cybertron are a holy trinity of sorts that affect the Multiverse. He sends Magnus and the others to the Star Chamber to confront Galvatron and stop him, whilst he goes to see Primus in Zero Space.

Inside Zero Space, "Primus" is torturing Spike some more by having his father appear and blame him for his death, all this turmoil is causing the crack in Zero Space to widen, and glimpses from other universes are starting to appear clearer, all whilst "Primus" has Galvatron destroying the cities of Nebulos as part of the Magi-Cal trinity.
Rodimus returns to the Presidium where he takes the Covenant of Primus and uses it's power to transport him to Zero Space where he meets "Primus", aka the Dark Matrix spawn.

The Autobots manage to break into the Star Chamber, but are attacked by the leeches again, Grimlock holds them off whilst the others go through the space bridges to Earth and Nebulos to find and stop Galvatron.

Back in Zero Space, the Matrix Spawn explains everything to Rodimus, he was transported with the other Transformers to Cybertron by Primus just before the Unicron war, where he possessed one of the Acolytes of Unicron, using that confusion he headed to the now empty Primus chamber where he found a graveyard of the bodies of Transformers who had in the past embarked on pilgrimages to see Primus, but died at the end, where he absorbed the crumbs of their spark energies and became more powerful.
Using this new power he was able to dominate the Demons, who were guarding Primus' chamber, and sent them to attack the surface dwelling Transformers so he could have more energy. During Cybertron's mass shift he was absorbed into Primus' chamber and became one with the planet.
Over the next couple of decades he was whispering in the ear of some of the Transformers, like Scorponok and Soundwave and caused all the hardships of recent days, but could only really get started on his true goals to devour the Multiverse itself when the Last Autobot was killed.
Rodimus goes to attack the Matrix Spawn, when it summons three versions of Optimus Prime from the timeline and have them attack the new Prime.

Ultra Magnus' team arrives on Nebulos and finds the place in a bit of a state, so they decide to follow the destruction to find Galvatron.
Meanwhile Prowl's team arrive on Earth, where they find a team of Humans attacking them, they quickly call a truce when they realise Spike and Optimus' disappearances are connected to this whole mess.

Inside Zero Space, Rodimus is being pummelled by the Optimuses, but he manages to fend them off long enough to throw the Covenant into the crack and into the hands of one of his counterparts. Before long, Rodimus' plan is made apparent to the Spawn, as an army of Rodimus' counterparts from across the Multiverse appears and begin to fight with the Spawn.
During the fight, the creature loses control of Optimus for a short time, and he manages to tell Rodimus that the creature cannot be killed, only contained, Rodimus seems unwilling to do that, as it would mean everyone's doom, but knows that it has to happen or the entire Multiverse is in trouble.
Rodimus manages to get through to Spike, and apologizes for the Transformers being responsible for what happened to Earth, which frees him of his demons, which begins to close the crack. Rodimus then makes the ultimate sacrifice and seals the crack up once and for all with the sword, which traps the Matrix Spawn inside Zero Space, unable to ever leave again. This act also sets all those turned into Shadow leeches free, and allows them to truly die.
Meanwhile on Nebulos, Ultra Magnus' team tracks down Galvatron, and manages to finally kill him, but not before Fort Max joins the fight, and has to be stopped as well

Rodimus, Spike and Optimus reappear inside Primus' Chamber, where Optimus dies from his ordeal, but tells Rodimus that what he has done has saved them all, and that now the dream can stay alive....

Many eons later Rodimus is the last Cybertronian alive, he looks back over his life and recalls how Optimus' plan for the Humans and Nebulans to blend their societies for both of their own goods came to happen, and over time their new civilization grew to flourish. He also looks back on how after the crack was sealed, Cybertron was cut off from Primus' power in the Multiverse, and so their days were numbered, they abandoned Cybertron to travel into the Universe and spread a message of peace. Now that it is his time to die, Rodimus has returned to the molten surface of his home world and walks along, until he collapses and hits the floor.

However, the Matrix energies from his now dead body spread out across the planet, cooling the molten planet down to normal again, and gives life to the cocoon forms of the Demons, who are reborn as a new generation of Cybertronian, showing us that it truly never ends.....

Notes
  • SHOCKINGLY Nightbeat doesn't die in this issue!!
  • The Transformers turning grey when attacked by the Shadow Leeches could be a reference to either how Tornadron left his victims in "Call of the Primitives" or just of how Transformers tended to turn greyscale when they died in the cartoon in general.
  • Why does Rodimus assume his sword still exists on Cybertron after the planet is totally decayed?
  • Tailgate's random death adds to the list of characters from More Than Meets the Eye who have died recently (Brainstorm, Misfire etc being earlier examples)
  • It's revealed here that Sparkplug died during Megatron's attack - I don't think it was actually confirmed before now.
  • It's revealed here that the Matrix Spawn is the one who revived Galvatron for his plans, therefore it's quite likely he was responsible for Megatron's revival on Earth as part of his plan to devastate Nebulos, Earth and Cybertron for his grand scheme.
  • It's revealed that the violent actions of the Demons in the past were because they were controlled by the Matrix Spawn.
  • It should be noted that Sludge is never seen with the other Dinobots here, meaning he was probably converted into a leech like the rest of the population :(
  • The 3 versions of Optimus who appear in Zero Space are his original body, his Powermaster body and his current badly damaged body he abducted from Earth.
  • The "Rodimus Corps" seen in the past return here after being contacted by this Rodimus Prime
  • From IDW Rodimus' dialogue, it can be assumed that the it's the Red version of Hot Shot from Galaxy Force who appears and not his Hasbro counterpart Exillion.
  • Ultra Magnus FINALLY finishes off Galvatron! Yay!
  • Whilst not shown on page, it can be assumed that Fort Max was killed by the Autobots
  • The heavily battered Rodimus shown at the beginning of this story arc is revealed to just be a heavily aged version of himself who has reached his natural end.
  • Zero Space is revealed to be the void left behind when Primus was destroyed in this reality.
  • With Primus gone, Cybertron was left dead and is unable to recover, until Rodimus' Matrix energies were released at the end that is.
  • The demons' cocoon forms are shown to still exist on the dead Cybertron, and have given life to new Transformers, such as Botanica!
  • It's mentioned that eons have passed at Rodimus' time of death, which means that the new generation of Cybertronians who are born are in a completely different situation that they were in Beast Wars (where only 200-300 years have passed)
  • The clock-work looking beings Shockwave and his crew visit sure do look a lot like Quintessons huh?
  • Rodimus' fate at the end here seems very fitting, as noted by the Demons when they saw him originally, he looks a lot like Primus, and here he is giving them new life as a creator would!
  • Rodimus also basically does what Jhiaxus wanted him to do as well, he used his Matrix energies to power a new generation!

Plot
In Zero Space Spike is being held captive by Primus, who wishes to use his unique body (part Human, Nebulon and Cybertronian) for his grand scheme. As a part of this he takes on the form of Buster, and mentally traumatizes Spike over letting him die at the Decepticon's hands.

Rodimus Prime is taken to see Jhiaxus on the Hub's Throneworld, where he asks the Autobot leader to join him freely in building up his empire, or he'll start killing his captured allies.
Elsewhere in the Hub, the Wreckers are attacking the connections between the worlds and causing massive problems. Rook reports this to Jhiaxus, who starts killing Autobots (those who have been altered by external forces - Headmasters, Pretenders etc) to force Rodimus to tell them to stop, however Rodimus points out that if it's the Wreckers then they won't stoop until their dead anyway. Jhiaxus has a battalion chase after them.
Meanwhile, Shockwave and the possessed Starscream decide to take action as well, with Starscream going after Jhiaxus himself.

On Earth, Blackrock is working on repairing Optimus following his quick battle with Fort Max. Linda just wants Optimus to be operational enough to find out where Max took Spike, so they can recover him, then destroy the space bridge and cut off all connection to the outside universe for good.

On Cybertron, the Dinobots witness the surviving Demons wrap themselves in a cocoon of some sort, as it waiting for something to happen, when Grimlock starts to get his memories that Primus erased back and starts babbling about how he was used, and about VsQs.
Elsewhere at the Star Chamber Galvatron attacks the Autobot scientists trying to contact Optimus or Quickmix, who have both gone quiet, and kills them all.

The Wreckers are tearing apart the Hub's connectors and causing massive damage all across, along with the aid of Shockwave and the Ark (which he still controls) Jhiaxus has Rodimus sent away to the prisons by 2 guards, who Rodimus easily takes down.
Jhiaxus is panicking over his crumbling empire and prepares to leave when Starscream arrives and re-introduces Jhiaxus to the Senators he killed during the Underbase's creation. Jhiaxus' mind is then painfully absorbed into Starscream (and the Underbase itself). Jhiaxus screams for Rook's help, but his loyal servant just runs away.
Rodimus frees the captured Autobots who join in with the battle. Shockwave arrives at the Throneworld and recovers Starscream's exhausted body from the collapsing construct, despite it being totally illogical - he starts to wonder if this is what emotion is. The attackers all leave as the Hub crumples into itself.

On the way back to Cybertron, Rodimus wonders about some things, all Jhiaxus was doing was trying to create order out of the chaos of the Universe, which is exactly Primus' function...so what if Primus isn't as benevolent as they all think?
On Cybertron a Dark Matrix creature leaps out of an Energon Pool....

Notes
  • This is the penultimate issue of this series!
  • Doesn't it feel like the whole Jhiaxus/Hub storyline was a bit shoehorned in or rushed?
  • I mean seriously, last issue they were crushing the Autobots, now the Wreckers basically destroy them in a couple of minutes!
  • With Galvatron's new attitude and his previous location near Primus, I think it's safe to say that he did what he's doing to Spike to Galvatron off screen, and this process will drive Spike mad(der) in time for next issue.
  • Jhiaxus plans to use the Matrix energies inside Rodimus to power a new generation of Cybertronians, this is similar to Bludgeon's plans to use the Matrix to power his new generation of Transformers in the G2 series.
  • Grimlock remembers the Dark Matrix creature from VsQs in the Marvel run, which is implied to be one with Primus as well here, which would mean that whatever Primus is up to has been planned for some time now.
  • "The Four" are fully named here as Boltax, Decanus, Tallus and Rokan, the last 2 were unnamed in issue #0.
  • Shockwave's scene with Starscream (see above) seems like it's just bait for the fangirls to fawn over honestly.
  • Cybertron is shown to have some Decepticcons and Autobots wandering around on the surface...why wasn't every able-bodied Autobot/Decepticon brought in to counter this massive threat against their homeworld?!
  • The Dark Matrix creature is shown to be in an energon pool at the end of this issue, but last time we saw it, it was entering Fort Max's mind...maybe there's more than one of them?
  • Think about it this way...the individuals shown to Rodimus on his time trip by Primus are now all in his grasp. Fort Max, the Matrix Creature and Galvatron are under his power and Spike has been taken captive. The only wild-card (as pointed out earlier in the series) was Jhiaxus, who has now been taken out just in time for Primus' big push...seems like the trip was used to force Rodimus to help Primus out secretly for whatever he's doing.
  • This could also mean that the Demon's attempts to keep people away from Primus' chamber were to try and stop him from being revived again.

Plot
The Autobot armada led by Rodimus Prime attacks the Hub, aiming to fire on a weak point they've detected and destroy the whole thing. Rodimus is confident this will work, and want's Jhiaxus to pay for all he's done, but Jetfire is concerned that it all seems too easy, and that perhaps Jhiaxus knows what's happening.

On Earth, the Space Bridge is completed and some humans Optimus are waiting for an arrival from Nebulos, but the person who comes through is a newly revived Fortress Maximus. The sight of his former partner stuns Circuit Breaker/Spike, Optimus goes to confront Max on why he's there, but the giant Autobot instead blasts him and captures Spike. Optimus tries to stop them from leaving, but is instead smashed apart by Maximus, leaving him badly injured and unable to stp them from leaving.

Back at the Hub, the attack against the weak point continues and it is hit...however it does nothing to the complete structure, revealing that Jetfire's concerns were correct, and the Cybertronian Empire's full force comes out of hiding and attack the Autobots, causing a lot of damage.
Ultra Magnus' team, on the surface of the Hub roll out to hide from the Empire, however on the way Hound is killed, while Fastlane and Chromedome split up from the group. The troops chasing them blow out the road in front of Magnus and the others, forcing them to stop and fight on foot (and Nightbeat to crash).
Jhiaxus contacts Rodimus on his ship and shows footage of all the carnage, forcing Rodimus to surrender and end the battle.

On the Ark, the consciousness inside Starscream makes the ship land on Cybertron so they can find Jhiaxus and make him pay for what he did. In the process Starscream revives Shockwave into a new body so he can assist him, rather than keeping him trapped within the Ark.
In the Primus Chamber, the Acolytes of Unicron have delivered Galvatron to their master, Primus, who promptly kills them all, and continues with his plans of "One will be all" as he surges with green energon.

Notes
  • So...after Rodimus was shocked about Jhiaxus not needing a physical structure for Space Bridges, the Autobots are shown using them here...maybe they somehow copied Jhiaxus' technology in a day?
  • Fort Max coming to Earth instead of (presumably) Quickmix and the others on Nebulos could imply that Max killed them offscreen
  • Fort Max shouldn't be this big as his larger body was built after the Autobots left Nebulos originally.
  • Getaway and Skids being on a team together is likely a reference to More Than Meets The Eye where the two are partners (though here it seems that Getaway is ranked higher than Skids)
  • Starscream's Underbase powers are shown to be able to restore life to normal here, rather than just being a destructive force
  • Fort Max's and Primus' new mantra of "One will be all" sounds a lot like Unicron's goal of Universal devuring. It's also of course a corruption of "Til All are One"

Plot
The Dinobots are watching as the Demons are placed in a resettlement camp by the Autobots, which disgusts Grimlock, however the Demons don't seem to care, and seem to be calm, and are worshipping an engraving of Primus, as if waiting for something to happen.
Elsewhere at the Presidium Jetfire and Rodimus rush to Nightbeat, Perceptor and Bumblebee to find out anything they learned about Jhiaxus, and they suggest that he has a meeting with the long long Cybertronian. Later on, Rodimus arranges a meetup but it causes a massive crowd to gather. Everyone is shocked when a spacebridge starts to materialize from nowhere and out come Jhiaxus and some of his forces. Rodimus welcomes him back to Cybertron, and Jhiaxus comments on how he's noticed the snipers in the towers nearby, just in case, and mentions that Optimus probably wouldn't have done that. Rodimus goes off with Jhiaxus for their talk in private, whilst Jhiaxus signals for his troops to leave them.

Back on Earth, Optimus is overseeing the construction of the spacebridge to Nebulos with some other Autobots both on Earth and Nebulos. Quickmix, on Nebulos tells Optimus about Fort Max almost being revived, and he seems glad.
At the Technodrome, the Nebulans are replanting Fortress Maximus' original head onto his new body, unaware that the dark Matrix spawn infested his head last issue. Upon connection Maximus starts screaming in pain, but suddenly calms down.

Rodimus takes Jhiaxus to Nova Point, as it's the most secluded area (though Nightbeat and the others are spying on them). Rodimus asks him why Primus believes him to be a loose thread and a danger to the grand plan, and Jhiaxus laughs at Primus' name, and mission. He then explains that he left Cybertron to build his own empire and destiny rather than await the destiny that Primus left for them (to fight Unicron) and shows him a massive hologram of the Hub Network.

The Primum Fugae fly over to the resettlement camp and find the Demons, they mention that they were told not to kill the Transformers, but these creatures don't count. They begin the slaughter. The Dinobots intervene and start to fight the Fugae as well.
Back at Nova Point, Jhiaxus offers Rodimus a change to add Cybertron to the Hub as well. Rodimus asks how many lives he killed to create the Hub, as the worlds he's used must have been cyberformed. Jhiaxus replies that it depends on what he considers life. Rodimus attacks Jhiaxus for that, but is quickly overpowered. Jetfire and Bumblebee come to his rescue, but aare easily taken out by Jhiaxus, all whilst the Dinobots are defeated. Magnus and his team arrive to try and save the day, but before they can do anything the Primum Fugae are called away by Jhiaxus. Jhiaxus also leaves, but causes major damage to Nova Point as he goes.

In the aftermath Rodimus and the others are tended to, but it's mentioned that the Dinobots are probably going to be out of commission for some time. Rodimus declares that they need to take the fight to Jhiaxus and his troops.

It's revealed that earlier on, Starscream recognized Jhiaxus and his troops due to him retaining some of the Underbase's power and knowledge, and he declares that a reckoning will be coming to him for his actions in the past (killing the other creators)

Notes
  • The multiple versions of Rook shown last issue are shown here to have different head designs and names, showing it's not just a mass-produced body like it was in G2
  • Jhiaxus has developed a Spacebridge without a physical construct needed. This is commonplace in modern fiction, but not so in the 80's G1 series'
  • The Primum Fugae consider the Dinobots to be only JUST above the level of evolution as the Demons.
  • Jhiaxus is shown to be unbelievably strong here, due to his exposure to the Underbase during it's construction
  • Starscream is revealed to still have some Underbase powers as he seems to channel the ones who built it, and recognizes Jhiaxus on sight.
