Sig Pub - Robots in Disguise #15

Notes
  • The screen-cap comic this month is Overloaded Part 2.
  • Despite the screen-cap comic, they appear to be trying a little harder this month's issue. The cover features a nice sketched out comic storyboard in the background, and some of the puzzles actually look like more than just stock images on a blank background.
  • In the Decepticon Search puzzle we get a bunch of stock images of Decepticons, but positioned well to make them re-enact the escape of the Stasis Pods from episode one, showing loads of characters in the process. I approve of this!
Features
Escape the Decepticons - Tear off the cover and follow the maze to avoid the Decepticons!
Team Autobot - Article on the story so far
Which Autobot are you? - Take a quiz to determine who you are. I came up as Drift.

Plot
Oz wakes up to find himself in a giant vehicles, being driven away by Dr Dell, along with the rest of his crew and their ship sitting comfortably on the back seat. Dell speeds away from the facility to get the Micronauts to safety, but is soon attacked by the security team from the facility, who try to run her off the road.
Microtron needs the car to be kept still whilst he makes his repairs, so Acroyear and Phenolo-Phi fly off to attack the other humans, managing to cause them to crash. Unfortunately two attack helicopters appear and attempt to stop them, but the Micronauts take off in their patched up ship, thanking the doctor for her help, despite neither understanding each other.
The Heliopolis manages to easily disable the helicopters, and speeds away, looking for another space bridge to return to Microspace with. Microtron reports that he's located what seems to be traces of the Entropy Cloud in a forest nearby, so they go to investigate it, despite all of them being unnerved by the idea of re-entering the cloud.

Later, they arrive at the location, and Microtron detects signs of Microspace civilization and life below, interested, the crew decide to investigate, leaving Microtron behind to watch the ship.
The crew investigate some ancient Microspace scaled architecture, and realize that it's thousands of years old before being surrounded by a colony of winged insect-like beings, led by one of the Time Traveler's sarcophagus' on walking legs, claiming to have been waiting for them to arrive for some time now....

Notes
  • Phen shows that she can recalibrate her space glider suit to adapt to Earth's wind, this seems to be using her helmet which I would guess has some mind reading skills
  • Phen and Acroyear cause two military vehicles to crash into each other here...I wonder if any humans got hurt?
  • I hope we see Dr Dell again in the future, she was fun!
  • Larissa implies that she doesn't know where Acroyear gets his sword from, despite it being shown before that he pulls it from subspace...could this be a subtle hint to her true nature?
  • The Micospace colony on Earth appears to be filled with Nepos, at least that's what they're called in the toy line.
  • The "Time Traveler" at the end uses the black text box that is normally used for robots, implying that this is just a robot using one of their sarcophagus'

Plot
Oz explains to Dr Dell, one of the scientists who are studying the tiny life-forms, how they arrived on Earth, but soon remembers that they don't speak the same language, so he gives up. The doctor tries to interpret what they are saying, but the head scientist tells her to not bother, and prepare them for vivisection. Dell isn't happy, but obeys and sadly electrocutes the Micronauts, knocking them out.

Later, the Micronauts are being carted away to the new lab, but Acroyear wakes up, and easily smashes through the glass cage, and attacks the human guards, who he manages to knock out. The glass case is smashed, and the other robotic Micronauts wake up too, with the organics still being too weak. Biotron points out that it's interesting that the case was made of shoddy materials and the electric shock wasn't strong enough for the job, but Acroyear is more interested in finding their ship and escaping. Microtron locates it, and leads the group towards it.
The Micronauts are chased by some more guards, including some dogs. They manage to outrun them, and find the room where the Heliopolis is being held, but find the door locked tight, however when they arrive Dr Dell opens the door and points them towards their ship.

Biotron realizes that she's trying to help them to escape...

Notes
  • This issue is set following the events of Revolution, and shows what happened to the Micronauts after they are captured.
  • Dr Dell mentions that she things Oz is speaking a type of Egyptian Arabic, since we've previously learned that they are talking Ancient Cybertronian, this could mean that the Egyptians were influenced by the Cybertronians too...interesting!
  • The head scientist here is unnamed in this issue.
  • Acroyear is shown to have strength proportionate to his size, much like the Marvel character Ant-Man, likely a reference to Ant-Man's previous connection to the Micronauts during the Marvel years.

Plot
Four weeks ago, Crankcase began talking to an individual called "Cons4eva" on The Big Conversation, and within a couple weeks the two have sparked a near-romantic relationship, and decide to meet up on Earth...

Today, Grimlock is rampaging through Texas, and causes horrible damage everywhere he goes. A member of GI Joe from the area is trying to investigate the situation, but he has no idea what he's doing. Soon, two apparent agents of MASK appear and suggest they work together to solve the giant dinosaur attack. The GI Joe member, MP3, heads out in his "Action Van", whilst the MASK agents summon their vehicles, a pink Cybertronian jet and a purple helicopter, emblazoned with Decepticon insignias...
Meanwhile, in New Mexico, Crankcase is panicking about his imminent meeting with his new love, and he reveals to Krok and Fulcrum that he hasn't seen him, or even learned his real name. The two other Decepticons leave with him for moral support, but decide to leave Misfire and Spinister behind, since they're "playing nice" with Grimlock in his room (unaware that Grimlock is on a rampage, and the others are chasing him right now). Outside, they come face-to-face with Cons4eva, who is revealed to be...THUNDERWING?!

Spinister and Misfire follow the path of destruction to chase Grimlock, when they realize that MP3 has disappeared, they back-track and find him with his van broken down. MP3 decides to drop out of the mission, so the "MASK agents" take off their masks to say goodbye, Spinister's "head" underneath is just a smaller version of his mask, and Misfire's is a deformed cyclops creature, causing MP3 to pass out in shock. After his passing out, the Decepticons hear about Grimlock rampaging on his radio, so they begin to head out again.
Back at the Weak Anthropic Principle, the Decepticons are scared of Thunderwing being present, since he destroyed Cybertron and Nebulos in the past. They attack him, and return to the ship, planning to get Grimlock's help in the fight, however Thunderwing manages to smash his way into the ship, then turns back into his true form, a Dire Wraith...

Spinister and Misfire arrive in Arlington, where they witness a paramedic revive a human who had stopped breathing, then realize that MP3 was probably not dead like they decided...Spinister quickly heads back to where they buried him hoping to save him.
Back at the WAP, the Dire Wraith is revealed to be Cons4eva, and he wanted Crankcase's help to initiate "The Crossover" a ceremony from Temptoria where three separate species work together to open a portal to a new universe. Crankcase says he doesn't wish to come with him, but will help him to travel to the new universe though, but they still need a third species to help them....Just then, Spinister returns with an unconscious MP3 in his arms, asking for help.

Grimlock has stopped his rampage, and digs into the ground of a building site, when Misfire appears, Grimlock draws a sword from, the ground and rushes towards Misfire, but stops just before hitting, so he can show him the names of the other Dinobots on the hilt, Misfire realizes that the sword was a gift from his friends, and also remembers that this was where he was arrested and sent to Garrus-9, the last time he saw the other Dinobots. Grimlock calms down, and both of them return to the ship...

Later, MP3 agrees to help with the Crossover, after realizing that this is what he's been waiting for, and the reason he didn't resign from GI joe like the rest of his team had. The trio of misfits work together to open the portal, but it's much too small for any of them to enter.
Later on, Cons4eva hitches a ride with the Scavengers to the next starhub, as he doesn't believe in the mission on Earth and wants a fresh start. MP3 agrees to join the Scavengers as their first human member, so he sends his resignation letter through the portal, which can send things anywhere the user desires, but before he can get onto the ship, Fulcrum takes off, refusing to allow him aboard, since he hates humans so much (it's all those pores!) Leaving MP3 to rummage through the portal, hoping to get the letter back before Scarlett an read it!

Notes
  • This issue continues the new trend of the MTMTE parts of crossovers not including the regular cast of the series. Titans Return focused on the Luna-1 crew, and this one focuses on the recurring Decepticon team called "The Scavengers".
  • We see in this issue that "The Big Conversation" is just a Decepticon forum board/chat room where everyone has profiles etc. It's also apparently accessible from other networks, like the Earth's internet!
  • People not being as scared as you may think they'd be when Grimlock is rampaging across Texas is probably due to the Transformers being known to exist on Earth again over the past year or so.
  • Spinister's holomatter model appears to be female, despite the height and male name.
  • Crankcase's history with Thudnerwing was shown in Stormbringer, where he was part of the Nebulos Infiltration Team, where most of the team were killed by the zombie-like Decepticon.
  • Spinister's comments that no one knows what MASK is, is likely due to both their recent forming in continuity, and the series only just beginning in the real world.
  • So...Spinister and Misfire thought MP3 was dead, so they buried him...AND HE WAS STRUGGLING AS IT HAPPENED!! Hey I guess it's lucky they didn't pull him apart for spare parts like they did to Flywheels after his death!
  • The entire dialogue regarding "The Crossover" is littered with jokes regarding the concept on crossover comics. It's hilarious if you are in the know :)
  • Grimlock's sword is located underground in a building site, implying that the Machination base that was at that location was demolished at some point since Maximum Dinobots.
  • The Admin Force are quite pathetic in the GI Joe troops, they make their own names, costumes and technology. They're basically the "unofficial fan club " of GI Joe rather than a real part of it.
  • It's unclear how Cons4eva could turn himself into Thunderwing, since the Dire Wraiths in this series are parasites and not just shapeshifters like they were in Marvel. It's possible that he used the often mentioned black magicks of the group to change his appearance.
  • Slug's name is still "Slag" here, due to the sword being gifted BEFORE his name change due to Arcee's complaints of inappropriateness.

Plot
Out in space, the Titan Ship Carcer picks up a disturbing signal on it's sensors, Greenlight and Lancer inform Elita of this troubling news.
Windblade returns to Cybertron, following her involvement in the Revolution on Earth, and she is fed up, she doesn't appreciate how Optimus doesn't listen to her any more, and feels tired of all the problems she's had lately with Chromia, Bruticus and every thing on Earth. Obsidian consoles her, and tries to convince her to stay on Cybertron as she's needed there, just as he received a message on his communicator...
Elsewhere, Starscream has been called to see Ironhide in his office, and he demands that the Enigma of Combination be given to him for safe-keeping following the various thefts lately, but he ends up arguing with him about it, culminating in Ironhide pointing out how Starscream hasn't done anything to earn the respect of the Cybertronians yet, so he isn't trusted with something as powerful as the Enigma, just as they all receive a message too.

A little while later, the Council of Worlds are convened at the Spire, where Obsidian and Windblade request for a declaration of war to be made, and explains that an army of undead Titans have been detected approaching Cybertron (heading from Luna-1). The council start to panic, but Starscream finally takes charge, and gives everyone their orders to prepare the planet for battle.
The injured are all sent to Caminus, and the Spacebridge is deactivated for safety, the healthy are armed and prepared for battle, all shuttles around Cybertron are conscripted for the battle, and Carcer is brought into orbit, whilst Metroplex is ordered to transform and prepare for battle too.

Soon, the Titan Swarm arrives, and is immediately attacked by the united Cybertron, with the skies being defended by the Titan Ship Carcer and the other shuttles.
Everyone works together to take down the Titans, but there are just too many to handle. Starscream contacts Elita on Carcer and asks her to transform the ship to robot mode, so he can help in the battle, but she simply refuses and hangs up on him, just to Starscream's shock and horror...

Notes
  • This story acts as the TAAO part of the Titans Return event which MTMTE and Ongoing ended a couple months ago. This story occurs after Revolution's conclusion, but also follows on from the cliff-hanger at the end of MTMTE's part of the event.
  • It's revealed that the Combaticons are brain damaged following their forced de-combination from Bruticus in the last issue
  • Why are all of the injured being sent to Caminus? Isn't that the colony with the energy crisis? Why not send them to Eukaris, Divisiun, Velocitron or even Luna-1? I could understand them not going to Earth due to the delicate situation there, but wouldn't anywhere else be better?!
  • I'm going to assume that Razorbeast is from Eukaris, since he has a beast mode and didn't know Fizzle during the war.
  • So after all this time of building a city around Metroplex for people to live in, they have him transform and basically destroy it...PROGRESS!!
  • Carcer has been moved into orbit around Cybertron...did he get spacebridged there? Was he just nearby? I'm genuinely curious here!
  • Strika's statement that the Titans cannot take the ship, and Elita's refusal to allow Carcer to transform for the battle adds to the mystery of who Carcer really is, and what Elita's true motives are.

Plot
Following the Revolution, Rom leaves Autobot City to continue his work fighting the remaining Dire Wraiths. However, two of the Joes, Beachhead and Grunt decide that they can't trust Earth's safety to an alien Space Knight and the Cybertronians, and decide to take care of things themselves...
Later, in Santa Barbara, a couple of elderly tourists are attacked by a pair of Dire Wraiths and turned into their new hosts, killing their pet dog in the process, soon they hail down a cab, and kill the driver to use as a new host as well. The duo plan to run amok across Earth since most of their leaders were killed during the Revolution, but are soon killed when their cab is blown up by a pair of shadowy figures...
Rom returns to Cooper's Mill, where he has made his new home, hiding from the human army troops guarding the scorched town, and returns to Darby Mason's house, where he left Camilla for her protection, whilst thinking over the events of the Revolution, and s convinced that the Cybertronians will need to be dealt with in the future...

Rom returns to the house, where he is shocked to discover that Camilla's Wraith mark has grown by a lot. Outside, the two shadowy figures appear and knock out the human guards, before detecting Rom and a Dire Wraith inside the Mason house.
Rom has finished scanning Camilla, and asks her to decide whether she wants to risk the Neutralizer to try and cure her, or kill her, but before she can decide, her inner Wraith takes over and forces her to attack Rom. the two of them fight it out, resulting in the duo tumbling outside, but Rom finds himself unwilling to Neutralize his friend, fearing that it'll kill her.
Soon however, Rom receives some unwanted back-up, when the two shadowy figures are revealed to be the newly arrived Space Knights, ready to kill the Wraith-Camilla, and plan to "wipe the planet clean".

Notes
  • Optimus and the others appear to be allowing Rom to deal with the remaining Dire Wraiths alone, but Rom is still considering Optimus and he others to be a threat to Earth, so he is willing to deal wit them in the future...YIKES!
  • The Rogue Dire Wraith's plans don't really seem to make sense, they're just jumping from host to host for no apparent reason, not to grow their forces but just for the sake of it.
  • Also, the Wraiths appear to make their hosts look younger after taking control of them.
  • With the loss of the Ore-13 following Revolution, the Wraiths cannot trick Rom's Analyzer any more.
  • Rom is now using Darby's old family home in Cooper's Mill as his base of operations, since it's been abandoned with the town destroyed
  • The army guy guarding Cooper's Mill sings along to a song from Jem and the Holograms, seemingly placing her in the new IDW Hasbro-verse
  • Wraiths have been shown to need the blood of others to grow wings, but Camilla does so without any.

Plot
The Transformers, Micronauts and Snake Eyes fight against Karza, but the MASK team are tricked by Mayhem into thinking Karza is working with the Transformers, so they continue to fight them. Seeing his apparent allies fighting amongst themselves, Optimus grabs Rom, Snake Eyes and Acroyear, and forces them into his truck-mode cab, and he puts everyone straight on their shared target to destroy being Karza, which they all agree to.
As if on cue, GI Joe arrive in their vintage vehicles and join the battle, with Helix rationalizing that Karza is the enemy here. Victorion appears to join the battle, but is easily defeated by Karza, she de-combines to help add firepower to the battle, as Karza proceeds to tear apart the MASK vehicles.
Mainframe's helicopter is attacked by Karza, but the giant alien is shot at by the newly arrived Kup and Action Man. Soundwave manages to save the Joes in the plummeting by catching them, and Mainframe is glad to see Soundwave, since he has a plan. Nearby, Mayhem sees how things are going badly, and proceeds with his own plans.

At the Spacebridge, Biotron and Oziron are examining it, and wonder if they could use an Enerchange to combine with it and defeat Karza that way. Soundwave appears along with Rom, Mainframe and Matt Trakker, all of whom have their own role to play in Mainframe's plan to save the day...
Elsewhere, Windblade and Optimus notice that the Ore-13 is starting to detonate due to the battle, and will explode soon, Windblade communicates with Metrotitan and commands him to "arise" allowing him to levitate, keeping the city safe from the explosion, and lowers an escape route for everyone to use.
Soundwave is linked up to Matt's mask so they can combine their analytical skills whilst Rom resonates with the Space Bridge and all the Micronauts Enerchange with the bridge at the same time to take control of the Bridge.
With all the heroes in the city, they wait for the Ore to detonate, when Karza leaps up, and tries to take Optimus down with him, but is stopped when Mayhem smashes into Karza's side, loosening his grip, sending him plummeting back into the new crater, just as Soundwave and the others detonate the Bridge, setting off the Ore-13, and seemingly killing Karza and all those left below.
Rom manages to outfly the explosion, holding onto Trakker, with Soundwave, Mianframe and the Micronauts seemingly left for dead, and half of the MASK team missing in action.

Rom leaves in shame, having been unable to save people, but as he leaves Soundwave emerges from the flames, having shielded Mainframe in his chest cavity for safety, much to Scarlett's glee.
Optimus apologizes to the humans for annexing their planet, and now knows they don't need protection, but should be equals with the Transformers, and vows to work with them to protect the Earth together.
Elsewhere, the Micronauts have been captured by some scientists, who plan to vivisect them. A little later on, the Joes and MASK return to Governor's Island, where Scarlett reveals that the MASK vehicles were recovered, and suggests that Matt should continue the team, especially after a note is found from the seemingly dead Mayhem left on the windshield of his vehicle....

Notes
  • This issue marks the end of the Revolution story line (except for the one shots)
  • It's revealed that Karza and the Micronauts are speaking in Ancient Cybertronian, this is understandable since their universe was forged by Micronus Prime, one of the Thirteen Primes. Rom can also speak Ancient Cybertronian, which adds to the mystery of the his armour being able to link up to Cybertronian technology.
  • Most of the MASK vehicles are destroyed in this issue....I hope they know how to repair them in time for their new IDW series!
  • Action Man and Kup arrive at the battle just in time to see it end, as set up by the end of the Action Man one shot
  • Mainframe still claims to not know who Action Man is when asked.
  • Windblade is shown to be able to command Metrotitan to fly on demand, this control over Titans was shown in the Combiner Wars cartoon, and that is ALL I will talk about that abomination!
  • The end of this issue leads directly into the events of Rom #5 and Micronauts #7, showing Rom just after the battle, and the Micronauts in their enclosure.
  • How did the Micronauts end up in the lab so fast by the way? Did the Spacebridge send them there when it exploded?

Plot
GI Joe has lost contact with the EDC Bikini Atoll facility, so Scarlett is leading a small team of trusted Joes to the facility to find out what's happened there, fearing that it may be related to the Dire Wraith invasion of the planet.
Scarlett and Roadblock head towards the front of the facility whilst Rock 'n Roll, Quick Kick and Wild Bill go around the facility looking for anything out of the ordinary. Within moments of them splitting up, Scarlett's team is attacked by automated weapons.
Rock's team are finding nothing on their part of the island, but upon hearing that Scarlett is under attack, Wild Bill draws his knife and attacks the other two in his team, revealing himself to be a Dire Wraith. Quick Kick and Rock fight back against their apparent ally, and Rock is forced to kill him, making him revert back to his more reptilian appearance.

Rock 'n Roll carries an injured Quick Kick into the facility, whilst Scarlett and Roadblock fight off the mass of Wraiths at the front of the facility, and set off explosives to take out large amounts of them.
Inside the facility, Rock manages to fight through the Wraiths in the halls, and manages to get himself and Quick Kick into a locked away area.

In the hidden area he finds fellow GI Joe member Grand Slam aiming a gun at him, both believing the other to be a Dire Wraiths, neither gives up, so Rock takes a chance, and shoots the supposed Dire Wraith, only to be horrified when he doesn't revert back to a Dire Wraith form upon death.
Rock then discovers what Grand Slam and the facility was guarding, the Decepticon Skywarp, who claims to be an asset for them, much to Rock's annoyance....

Notes
  • This issue takes place at about the same time as Revolution: Action Man, and explains where a large amount of the Joes are during Action Man's infiltration.
  • Despite his prominence on the cover and Roll Call page, Shipwreck is only in TWO PANELS of the comic.
  • So, this is the second IDW series involving both Transformers and GI Joe, where Wild Bill is replaced by a spy of some sort following his death. Does IDW hate him or something?
  • Skywarp was taken in by the humans after he evacuated Faireborn, Blackrock and the others from the Autobots and Decepticons. The Bikini Atoll base was shown to have areas large enough to accommodate Transformers when Thundercracker was based there.

Notes
  • Hey, remember that creepy Bumblebee hand they gave out a few months ago? Well this one gave me an Optimus one!
  • In the pairs game, Back is named "Spider"...yeah...
  • The screen-cap comic for this issue is for "Overloaded Part 1". Last month we got the follow up story to this one, making it a bit confusing to people who never watched the cartoon.
Features
Mini-Con Pairs Game - cut up the cover to make a matching game.
Mission Alert! - Learn the back story, and make an ID card.

Main Strip
Plot
Having rescued Spike and the other humans from the damaged bus, Garry the Gorilla starts talking and thanks Spike for showing him that humans are good and worth saving, so he decides to help them.
The Autobot Pretenders are battling Thunder Mayhem nearby, but aren't doing too well against the destructive force. Garry approaches them and "suits on" revealing himself to be a Transformer too, who knows the weak points of Thunder Mayhem, having been involved in the final battle on Cybertron, revealing himself to be Optimus Prime himself.
Despite this though, Mayhem grabs the Autobot leader and restrains him, as he continues the attack on the city. The humans are panicking below, but Elizabeth tries to calm everyone down, as she has a plan...
Nearby, Megatron is glad that Optimus is still alive, but is still alone as his Decepticons are all gone. Soon, Ramjet arrives, promising to kill Megatron, until the Wreckers arrive, and Toxitron uses his acidic touch to melt Ramjet's face and arm. The Wreckers leave Ramjet to die, as they head off to join the battle, not noticing that Ramjet is healing from his wounds using his dark powers....

Notes
  • WHAT?!?! Garry the Gorilla is actually Optimus Prime in disguise?! Who could have guessed that obvious twist was ever going to happen?!
  • It's mentioned that Thunder Mayhem is made much stronger than the component parts when combined because of...reasons...but Optimus somehow knows his weak spots....how?
  • You know, for a destructive killing machine, Thunder Mayhem hasn't killed anyone, or caused any major destruction (besides one bus) yet...
  • I like how no-one even acknowledges Hi-Q being with Optimus...guess Targetmaster-lives don't matter in the Classicsverse.
  • It's mentioned that Optimus was locked inside a ship and made to watch Thunder Mayhem's rampage over Cybertron in an apparent attempt to drive him insane...WHY BOTHER?!?!
  • Wait, who are those guys appearing at the end of this story? Well they come from the prose stories that accompanied this series, due to what I can only assume to be because of the ending of the TFCC and their stories needing to be tied up quickly.
  • Toxitron is supposed to be an altered Decepticon made as a clone of sorts for Optimus, including his own fake Matrix....he looks nothing like that Optimus of this universe....
Title: The Re-Burn of Blurr

TFASDSG Strip
Plot
The Headmaster Jrs and Sari are on a trip with their teacher when they are greeted by a saddened Kremzeek, who tries to tell them about how the poor, slow Blurr was crushed accidentally by Shockwave, but the Headmasters aren't interested, so they attack Kremzeek and further damage the Blurr-cube, leaving Kremzeek even sadder....

Characters
Autobot
Arcee - Sports Car
Nightbeat - Sports Car
Siren - Htachback
Hosehead - Snow Plough
Blurr - (Slow) Race Car Pretty Much Dead

Decepticon
Shockwave - Tank/Crane (Flashback)

Other
Sari Sumdac
Kremzeek
Notes
  • This story is a Shattered Glass take on the "Return of Blurr" script reading/storybook
  • The teacher is a little odd, it's based on Arcee, so you'd assume it was a SG version of her, just in Scourge's colours, but this version also features Scourge's facial hair and head doo-dah, and comments they will "drain the Dinobot" aka a take on "drain the lizard" which is male speak for going to the toilet. I dunno, maybe Arcee's just male in this universe?
  • Nightbeat appears to be based on Harley Quinn, with her mallet and "puddin" comment, so I would guess Hosehead and Siren are based on Suicide Squad characters too, but....I haven't seen the film yet, so I can't identify them.
  • Siren's tiny speech is an inversion of his loud and obnoxious voice in the regular universes, it's difficult to read, but the dialogue says "Derrick J. Wyatt sees me in his dreams" and "Josh Perez thinks I taste like mint chocolate".....right then!

IDW - Revolution #4

Title: The New Colossus
Written by: John Barber & Cullen Bunn
Art by: Fico Ossio
Colours by: Sebastian Cheng
Letters by: Tom B Long
Edited by: David Hedgecock
Chief Creative Officer: Chris Ryall
Publisher: Ted Adams
Plot
Snake Eyes manages to infiltrate Autobot City, but encounters a tiny space ship named the Heliopolis manned by the Micronauts. He tries attacking the ship, but is unable to hit them. Acroyear leaves the ship to attack the "giant" alien, only to be horrified when an even larger, pink alien appears behind him.
Arcee attacks the two sets of intruders, but all of them are soon knocked out when Soundwave lets off a sonic strike against them. Arcee easily recovers, and Windblade and Rom examine the Heliopolis and Acroyear, determining them to be inhabitants of Micronus' universe, and believe them to have "invaded" in retaliation for Rom's attack on their universe. Snake Eyes meanwhile sets off a beacon to alert GI Joe to his location for backup.

Miles Manheim picks up the signal, but ignores it in favour of talking to his ally, the Dire Wraith Caleb Awan, and both are getting impatient of the other, and the recent attacks on Bikini Atoll and the White House, however they decide to enter the final stages of their plans, just as Matt Trakker enters the room. Miles ends the communication, and tells Matt it's time to head to Autobot City.
Meanwhile, in a cavern somewhere, Caleb and several other Dire Wraiths use their last scraps of Ore-13 to power themselves up, and head out to attack Autobot City too...
At Autobot City, Rom tries to apologize to the Micronauts for attacking their universe, but they cannot understand his alien language, but seem to get his intentions, so they appear to ally with him. Snake Eyes "wakes up" when the Autobots tell him to stop pretending to be knocked out. Optimus asks if they can talk like civilized beings now, prompting Snake Eyes to show his beacon watch, informing Optimus that he's already called for his superiors to arrive, making Optimus glad.

Scarlett and Roadblock return to Governor's Island, following the battle at Bikini Atoll, only to find that the base was attacked in their absence by Action Man, and the MASK team is gone, along with all their hi-tech machinery, leaving the Joes with nothing to fight the aliens any more.
The MASK team arrive at Autobot City, where they are soon joined by the Dire Wraiths, much to Matt's shock, and they plough through Victorion, and tear through the walls of the city. Inside, the Transformers, Micronauts, Snake Eyes and Rom all confront the MASK team and Dire Wraiths, in a messy battle, with the Dire Wraiths being powered up from the Ore-13 under the city, making them much stronger.
During the battle, Miles reveals his motives to be the ruler of Earth, which horrifies Matt and the others, only for the Dire Wraiths to turn on MASK taking out Matt and Miles' vehicles. Despite his apparent loss, Miles begins the last phase of his plan, and triggers the space bridge, allowing Baron Karza to enter from Microspace.
Caleb is unimpressed by the tiny enemy, until he initiates an Enerchange, and forces a fusion between himself, Caleb and some of the other Dire Wraiths, creating a giant monstrous version of himself, ready to crush everything. Everyone there looks on in horror.

The Joes finally pick up on Snake Eyes' signal, but aren't able to help without the MASK vehicles to counteract the Transformer's ability to disable their high tech machinery, until Mainframe uncovers several old-school GI Joe vehicles, that don't use sophisticated computers, allowing them to join in on the final battle too...

Notes
  • Jazz is still missing his arm...what the hell Optimus?!
  • It's shown here that the Microspace denizens speak a different language to English. I would assume in future issues that an auto-translator will be introduced.
  • When Rom holds Acroyear it looks like he's holding a doll....could this be a hint of a future Micronauts toyline?! :D
  • Miles Manheim is revealed to be Baron Karza's ally on Earth, and he is also revealed to be allied to the Dire Wraiths, in exchange of him ruling Earth following their invasion...this is of no shock to anyone of course.
  • Caleb Awan from the Rom Revolution one shot is shown to be a higher ranked Dire Wraith here, in his introduction he didn't seem to have much authority.
  • Axiom is revealed to have been also augmented by Microverse technology as well as Cybertronian, Dire Wraith and Human, making it a melding of all the main players in this series.
  • The two page spread of the Transformers and their allies vs MASK and the Dire Wraiths is reminiscent of the promo images for the Revolution event.
  • Karza is shown to be able to combine himself with other things for his Enerchange, implying that his previous centaur mode was also him fusing with an actual horse-alien rather than just being an attachment of his.
  • Also of note, Acroyear's sword was previously noted as being summoned from subspace...apparently subspace is available in another universe as well!
