Plot
Earlier, Red Alert is performing security checks on the crew of the ready-to-launch Lost Light, and gets annoyed by Swerve, however, Swerve suddenly tells him to look at his datapad, which now reads "This never happened".

In the present, Sentinel Prime has awoken an army of Titans using Sovereign's abilities, and boasts about it as Red Alert, now under his control is fighting Fortress Maximus, and a nearby Cerebros is cradling the seemingly dead body of Prowl. Cerebros manages to get Sentinel to explain that he faked his own decapitation and went into hiding, waiting for his time to strike back, and attuned his skills with the Titans so he can control them for this very moment.
Sentinel goes to kill Cerebros, but is stopped when the "dead" Prowl attacks him from behind, allowing the Autobots to escape in the confusion. Sentinel lets them leave, as he "has a world to save".

Earlier, Red Alert is searching Rewind's quarters on the Lost Light and locates the snuff-films that Rewind has been hiding, but Rewind grabs them and rearranges them into a pattern that resembles a mnemosurgery scar, and begs Red to not give in to him...

Back on Luna-1, Prowl wakes up after being fixed up, and Cerebros reveals that he used his prototype cranial implant to control his unconscious body allowing them to escape. Prowl is angry about this due to his past issues with people messing with his mind, but accepts it due to the situation. Prowl goes to see Fort Max and discusses how they aren't sure that Red Alert is himself right now. Prowl wanders around and finds a giant transformation cog, which Max confirms, explaining that Tyrest built the base using the remains of Titans, and it even has a robot mode, however the cog has malfunctioned and manual release is jammed. Prowl uses his patented table-flip attack and manages to flip the lever...
Elsewhere, Sentinel uses some quantum foam from Luna-1's thrusters to create a Spacebridge to Cybertron, and orders his Titan army to go through to raze Cybertron and get rid of all the impurities, as Sentinel sees them as. However, before they can reach it, a new Titan, controlled by Fort Max blocks the portal and fights the other Titans.
Prowl and Cerebros attack Sentinel directly, but Prowl is jumped by Red Alert, who laces his gun to the back of his head...

Earlier, Red Alert meets with Rung on the Lost Light, and Red admits to Rung that he thinks that he was converted into a sleeper agent in the past by someone, and worries that he could lose himself in the future. Rung doesn't believe him, but does teach him to alter his own memories using his brain, and create "continuity errors" to give him clues about his mind being tampered with. Red isn't sure if he can do it, but then notices that all of Rung's model ships have been replaced by model Titans, and his porthole windows are in the shape of a mnemosurgery scar as well...

Back in the present, Fort Max isn't doing so well, and Sentinel orders Red Alert to kill Prowl, however Red has regained control of his own mind, and turns his gun on Sentinel, knocking the head portion off of his body. Infinitus admits that he did turn him into a sleeper agent, along with many others, and begins to take control of the Autobot again. He tries to force Red to kill himself, but the Roboid Beak attacks Infinitus, knocking him down one of the thrusters, screaming.
Afterwards, Sovereign notices that the portal has closed, implying that Sentinel is now dead, due to him being the one who was controlling it. Fort Max apologizes, as some of the Titans made it through the portal, but Sovereign reveals that he redirected the portal to deep space but was unable to stop the Titan's ultimate destination, meaning they are still heading back to Cybertron...

Three days later, the Titan has been returned to base mode, Red Alert has recovered from his ordeal, and even reports that he's feeling less paranoid. Cerebros is cleaning some of the Titan's parts, so they can transform it easier if it's needed again. Prowl returned Sovereign to Earth, but has come back to Luna-1 for a sabbatical, so he can relax for the first time in centuries.
Cerebros has completed his repairs on the Roboids, using the now approved cranial implant, and they have all leaved for Cybertron, along with Outrigger, who was asked to leave with Beak.
The Autobots all work together to clean the Titan parts, whilst discussing how they miss the Lost Light and it's crew, and how they all hate endings...
Suddenly Red Alert's scanner starts buzzing, indicating that it's located the missing Lost Light, but finds that it's just background noise. He refuses to indulge his old tendencies and doesn't try to decipher the gibberish being transmitted through the noise, and returns to his work....

Notes
  • Excluding the Revolution One-shot issue, this is the final issue of More Than Meets The Eye :(
  • Don't be too sad though, the series is being rebranded as "Lost Light" in December, and will continue the series as normal. This is mostly just due to the other series' being rebranded and to help fit in with IDW's new united universe.
  • If you look through the scenes set in Red Alert's memories, you will notice small details that are indeed continuity errors, including popular characters who shouldn't be in the crowds, either due to their locations at the time, Ambulon and First Aid are at Delphi, Impactor is traveling space with Guzzle, Bumblebee is opposed to Rodimus' mission, so was no where near the ship, Ironfist is dead, and Ratchet is with Rewind and the others finding Tailgate and watching Whirl and Cyclonus' fight.
  • Sentinel confirms in this issue that he has been a Titan Master his entire life, and "decapitated" himself at his own internment.
  • Due to Tyrest and the Titan Hunter's salvaging from the Titans to create his base and space bridge, most of the Titans on Luna-1 are unable to teleport or do other Titan things.
  • The Autobots use the abbreviation "T-Cog" here, which has only previously been used in the Aligned continuity to describe a "Transformation Cog"
  • The manual transformation lever for the T-Cog of the Titan is designed like a table, and requires a hard flip to activate it...this is of course a reference to Prowl's recurring table-flips throughout the post-Costa Transformers series'
  • Fortress Maximus is traditionally a City-former with Cerebros forming his head, and Spike/Emissary forming Cerebros' head in turn. Here, Fortress Maximus controls the base Titan using a device created by Cerebros.
  • It sure is a good think that Tyrest built the base Titan with a Fortress Maximus looking face huh?
  • It's revealed here that Red Alert was once an informer for the Senate, and was selected to become a sleeper agent for Sentinel Prime, so he could work for him if he should ever be needed, as he was here. This process left him somewhat paranoid, explaining his erratic behaviour over the franchise history.
  • The whole ending scene with the Autobots hanging out around a soapy washing-up sink, cleaning the Titan's "bits" is quite adorable :)
  • Prowl finally gets his eyes fixed, which have been broken since Combiner Wars.
  • The "gibberish" message at the end includes the message "MTMTE 2012-2016" Marking an end to the series and giving us the years it lasted between.
  • It's mentioned that Sovereign is returned to Earth, but under whose protection? The Joes? The Autobots? Other?
