IDW - Nefarious

Plot
In orbit, Soundwave is monitoring Earth for activity and witnesses Alice being hunted down and killed by the Autobots and NEST, and remarks about how Galloway is essentially doing his work for him, by constantly trying to break up NEST and get rid of the Autobots due to his own prejudices. Soundwave decides to look for Ravage to see why he was activated again recently.
The Initiative swarm over the rubble of the building Ravage was buried under and prepare to extract Ravage, NEST finds out about this and sends out a team led by Bumblebee to find out what's happening, at the same time Buzzsaw monitors this situation too and Soundwave sends out his minions to retrieve ravage first, and kill everyone else.
The Initiative find Ravage's inert body and starts extracting the Allspark energies from the Appliance Bots he stole earlier when Soundwave's pets attack. The Autobots soon arrive, but Soundwave almost instantly kills Breakaway whilst in the air, and the other Autobots are attacked too. During the battle, the Initiative members are airlifted away and the Decepticons leave, and Buzzsaw places an object on Ravage. Soundwave is annoyed as he can't find any trace of the Initiative's vehicles or troops now.
Elsewhere, the heads of the Initiative commune via a holographic conference, during which they are happy about the recent mission and begin their next stages. Afterwards, Carter Newell leaves the "meeting" and looks over a half-constructed Allspark under his control.

Galloway is shouting at Lennox for sending out the Autobot team earlier without asking him first, and also reveals that the threat levels have been lowered to Blue, which means that there should be no more need for battles after a long time of no activity, and Galloway plans to have all NEST members reassigned before long.
As the Autobots and their human allies worry about the Initiative team, another group are at the damaged building, where Buzzsaw and Ravage spring out, with Ravage now back under Soundwave's control again. Soundwave has Buzzsaw go to Utah, and has Ravage meet with the other Minions before he can arrive to work out what happened to him, and why.
Back at the Initiative Carter has the Allspark mostly completed, but it needs more of it's energy, so they decide to get it from Sector Seven's old base, Hoover Dam. In Utah Buzzsaw and a team of Decepticons arrive at a barn, which was in Ravage's memory banks and start investigating it, whilst Soundwave examines Ravage for what happened to him. In the barn the Decepticons find a bomb, and run away before it detonates. The Initiative recieve a signal saying that one of their facilities has just blown up and inform Carter about it. NEST detect the explosion as well and decide to send out a team to deal with it, despite Galloway's objections.
Ironhide and Sideswipe are sent out to Utah where they manage to take down Reverb and Brakedown before Dirt Boss pretends to surrender to give Soundwave a chance to arrive and attack the Autobots with Ravage. However Optimus Prime arrives as well and manages to subdue Soundwave, but Dirt Boss manages to escape too.
Meanwhile Galloway has just lost the signal from Hoover Dam (as he's been monitoring all Transformer hotspots on Earth, so he decides to divert his jet to investigate, unknown to him though, the Initiative are in the Dam gathering Allspark energies.

Bumblebee and his team have been given custody of Soundwave so they can transport him to a high level facility in Odessa, Texas, which is being prepared by Optimus, Ironhide and Sideswipe. On the way to Odessa Buzzsaw attacks the plane and causes it to crash in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile Galloway has been taken to an air base where he gets reinforcements to go with him to Hoover Dam. Carter learns of the incoming helicopters to the Dam, and has an "airborne agent" sent out to deal with them.
Bumblebee's team decides to transport Soundwave on the ground now, but run into his minions and Dirt Boss, the NEST team gets worried about where the transport with Soundwave has gone, whilst Bumblebee and his team battle the minions. Ravage goes to free Soundwave, but the Initiative take control of him again, and he runs off. Bumblebee however does free Soundwave, as it's the only way he can see to stop his minions from fighting and allow him and his team to escape.
On their way to Hoover Dam, one of the helicopters in Galloway's group is shot down by an antique looking Bi-Plane, which also slices off the rear of his own helicopter's tail, causing it to start to fall.

Galloway's helicopter has crashed and he and his aide Frank run off to hide whilst the army guys fight the old plane, which unknown to them is being controlled by the Initiative, during the battle Frank has a piece of shrapnel sliced through his abdomen  Galloway runs off for one of the radios to call for help as he watches as the bi-plane transforms into the transformer Ransack. NEST picks up the message and dispatch a team to rescue Galloway.
Ravage has been taken in by the Initiative, but unknown to them Soundwave has had a tracer implanted on Ravage so he can follow him, he and his team arrive outside their base and he has Dirt Boss go first to set off the automated defenses first, he then sends in his forces to fight the guns etc, but they are all slowly taken down by the Initiative's forces, as well as some of their captured Transformers under their control, which subdue Soundwave as well.
Near Hoover Dam, Galloway is being chased by Ransack, but is rescued when the Twins arrive and chase him away, allowing a NEST team to blast him out of the sky. Frank is taken to hospital and Galloway thanks Lennox and his team, and starts changing his views on NEST and the Autobots.
NEST and the Autobots investigate Hoover Dam and remember that the Allsaprk was stored here, also Ironhide finds Soundwave injured, and the Decepticon offers an alliance with the Autobots against the Initiative.
The Initiative have moved their base, where Carter is talking to a Transformer (Fortress) who he has trapped and promises that all of his kind will be killed soon.

Optimus meets with Soundwave in California, where they learn that the Initiatve must have a mobile base, which is why it's suddenly gone now. The Transformers and NEST start hunting down the Initiative using Soundwave's talents as well, but Soundwave keeps his knowledge of the controlled Transformers to himself. Galloway officially apologizes to Lennox for his actions, and says he'll try to trust the Autobots from now on as well.
The Initiative have moved their base to Oregon where the Allspark has been reformed, and Carter links himself up to it as part of a plan of his, he begins a holo-conference with the rest of the Initiative's command, whilst Sounbwave checks on security footage and manages to track the Initiative to Oregon, the united team head out towards them.
In the meeting, Carter is moaned at by the others for him not informing them of every step in the Nefarious project and that they want to cancel it. Carter, in response uses his new Allspark connection to connect to machines in the offices next to the Initiative members and creates Mutations to kill them all, leaving him as the only head remaining.
On the way to the Initiative's base Optimus feels a lot of pain due to the Allspark's corruption and misuse. At the Initiative Ingrid starts spying on stuff and manages to get the passcode to enter the room Fortress is being held in, whilst the Initiative discover the Transformers and NEST approaching their base. The teams take out the outer defenses with great ease. Carter has the controlled Transformers sent out to fight their former friends, whilst inside the base Carter is told that the Allspark is going into meltdown due to him drawing too much power from it.

Carter's become mad with the power of the Allspark as now he finally has the power to get revenge for the last 80 year's he's suffered because of the Transformers. Outside the base the Transformers are fighting with their controlled friends (And some enemies as well) and are trying not to kill them in the process. Optimus is worried that the Allspark is going to explode and take the planet with it, whilst Soundwave leaves the battle to go after Ravage whom he wakes up again.
Kirkpatrick tries to stop Carter from using the Allspark anymore, but Carter just blasts him with it's energies, which renders him to ash. Meanwhile Ingrid runs off and breaks into Fortress' room, where she sees Fortress and asks him why Carter hates the Transformers so much. Outside, the battle is going badly as the Autobots are having problems dealing with their mind-controlled friends.
Inside the base, Fortress tells Ingrid the story about how a fight between him and Ransack about 80 years ago led to Carter's parents being killed in a car crash, and Carter being paralyzed. Fortress felt so bad that he allowed himself to be captured by Carter and forced to help him in his eventual plans.
Elsewhere in the base, Ravage, now BACK under Soundwave's command again sends out Reedman to attack Carter, whilst Carter is using the Allspark to start to overload the Transformer's sparks outside, however Reedman slashes the human before being blasted by Carter.
Carter uses the base's transformation ability to turn into it's mobile vehicle mode and tries to escape, however Optimus, whom has now stopped feeling the pain and chases Carter's vehicle, whilst Fortress has been freed by Ingrid from the mobile base.
Optimus manages to catch up with Carter and destroys his vehicle. Optimus grabs the Allspark and plans to destroy it, but Carter, still with his connection to it goes to try and kill the Autobot, but is then gunned down by Buzzsaw who then flies off himself.
Optimus prepares to sacrifice himself to save the world when Fortress appears and takes the Allspark from him, and offers to do it himself, he launches into space and it blows up, killing Fortress as well.
In the aftermath everything is pretty much back to normal, the Initiative's survivors are arrested and Soundwave is back in orbit, back to waiting and planning whilst the Autobots wonder about the future again.

Notes
  • This story is a sequel to ROTF, and is also essentially part 1 of the DOTM Prequel story too.
  • The Transformers don't seem to like the idea of Pretenders like Alice
  • Alice survived her collision with Mikaela's car in ROTF...She doesn't fair so well against Sideswipe however
  • Ravage was trapped under the building from the start of this story in his Tales of the Fallen issue
  • Soundwave is revealed to have several minions (though Laserbeak isn't included for some reason)
  • Buzzsaw's character model is based on the toy only Booster X10, and was clearly originally meant to be Laserbeak, but was altered to Buzzsaw
  • Due to the very bad artwork used for the robots (seriously, half the time it looks like the artist grabbed a toy and threw it in a blender and just drew what he saw afterwards) it's hard to work out who some characters are, or they just seem to be drawn wrong (like in Dune Runner's case, where he's drawn like Landmine)
  • Oh my god! The scene with all the Initiative controlled Transformers is just a headache of unidentifiable and mis-coloured characters!
  • Really? How does Buzzsaw turn into that Helicopter exactly??
  • The Allspark being able to be reformed from a small piece was sort of explored in ROTF where the small shards left over seem to hold the whole power of the thing.
  • It's not shown here, but the next storyline shows that the controlled Transformers were later recruited back to their respective factions.
  • It's not clear where the Initiative got all these Transformers, with the Decepticons it's posisble they took some who were killed during the unseen fights from Alliance, but the Autobots are a bit more confusing (considering for one thing that Smokescreen was on Mars when he was killed)

IDW - Revenge of the Fallen Adaptation

Plot
Thousands of years ago on Earth, The Fallen wages a war against his brothers, The Primes over the Star Harvester on the planet, as The Fallen plans to use it to destroy the sun and take it's energy for himself. (wonder who won?)
Back in the present day NEST and their Autobot allies chase two Decepticons, Sideways and Demolishor across Shanghai Optimus takes down Demolishor, who then warns Optimus that the Fallen shall rise again before dying, meanwhile Sideways is killed by Sideswipe. The incident in Shanghai is covered up, which Sam watches on TV.
Sam is packing his bags for college when he finds a shard of the Allspark in the clothes he wore during the Mission City battle and is infused with some energy whilst on the phone with Mikaela. The shard falls through his floor and into the kitchen which brings all the appliances to life, and they attack. Bumblebee, who lives in the garage attacks them, and ends up blowing the house up, leaving Judy furious (as the parents know about the Autobots now). Later Mikaela arrives and Sam gives her the shard, which the Decepticon Wheelie sees and reports. Sam and Bumblebee say goodbye, as he cant take a car to college as a freshman.
Galloway meets with Lennox and his team at the NEST base on Diego Garcia and tells them that the government isn't happy about the damage caused in Shanghai, and Optimus says that if the government asks them to leave then they will, but remind them that the Decepticons still exist on the planet and will go after humans, whether the Autobots are around or not. Soundwave, in orbit, launches Ravage to Diego Garcia, which he learned to be where the Allspark shard is, and also learns where Megatron was dumped in the ocean. Elsewhere, Sam moves into his college dorm and starts meeting his new classmates including Leo and Alice.
Ravage infiltrates NEST and steals the Allspark shard, later Sam goes to a party with his new friends when he called out by Bumblebee, who takes him to see Optimus. He tells Sam that the government believes the Decepticon attacks are the Autobot's fault and that the Allspark shard has been stolen and they need his help for realations.
Elsewhere Ravage and some other Decepticons, including Scalpel use the Allspark Shard to revive Megatron.

Megatron flies off to the crashed Nemesis on another planet where he meets with Starscream and talks with The Fallen in his dimension. Megatron is told that Sam now holds the power of the Allspark within him, and they need him for their ultimate plan to find the Matrix to power the harvester.
In school, Sam starts feeling the effects of the Allspark by assimilating knowledge too fast and starts overloading. Sam calls Mikaela about this and during the call Wheelie tries to steal her shard from the safe, but she stops him and tells Sam that she's coming to his school.
NEST detect multiple Decepticon attacks in America and send out some troops to deal with them. At Princeton Alice tries to seduce Sam and is revealed to be a Decepticon, Mikaela and Leo arrive just as Alice is trying to strangle him with her tongue, and the three of them escape in a car they steal after a short chase through the school. Alice chases the car, but Mikaela drives into her, knocking her away, however Grindor appears from nowhere and catches the car, hauling it away with him.
Sam is taken to a warehouse where Scalpel prepares to cut out his brain for them to use when  Bumblebee and Optimus appear and kill the doctor and fight off the Decepticons. Optimus drives off with Sam whilst Bumblebee takes Leo and Mikaela. Optimus ends up in a forest where he fights off Megatron, Starscream and Grindor whilst trying to protect Sam but ends up being killed by Megatron. Before Megatron can get to Sam though the other Autobots arrive and Bumblebee takes the Humans away with the Twins into hiding.
Megatron hacks the satellite feeds and addresses the Earth and orders them to find Sam for him, or he'll start destroying the world. Sam's parents in France (on their world tour) are kidnapped by some Decepticons.
Whilst on the run Sam decides he needs help, Leo suggests they go see someone who hacked his website and seems to know all about the symbols he keeps seeing in his head. The person they go to see turns out to the former Agent Simmons, who tells them that the Transformers have been on Earth for some time now, and shows them pictures of those symbols found across the planet, and even photos of some vehicles who they believe to be Transformers too.

The humans tell Wheelie (whom Mikaela had stuffed in a toll box after their fight) to help them find one of these old Transformers, and he directs them to the Smithsonian, where their Allspark shard launches itself towards a blackbird jet, which reconfigures into the now elderly Jetfire, a Decepticon who decided to defect some time ago. Sam shows Jetfire the symbols, which Jetfire interprets as clues to finding the Matrix, he then transports himself, the Autobots and Humans to Egypt via a space bridge, once there he explains who The Fallen is and that he planned to destroy Earth, so his former brothers turned their bodies into a tomb to hide the Matrix, the only thing that can reactivate the harvester, from The Fallen. He sends Sam and the others on a mission to find it, as it's power can also be used to revive Optimus.
Elsewhere, NEST is disbanded after recent events and Galloway prepares to escort them back to Diego Garcia. In Egypt Sam is noticed by the local intelligence agencies, and Soundwave learns he's there. Sam works out where Jetfire's clues for the Matrix's location lead to and calls Lennox's wife to get a secret message to her husband to ask for military assistance.
Sam and the others arrive at Petra and find the Tomb of the Primes and Sam grabs the Matrix, which turns to dust, Sam refuses to give up and gathers the dust up into a sock as they hear the military jets arriving nearby. NEST hijack the plane their on, and force Galloway out of the plane elsewhere as the team airdrops to the location Sam sent to them.
Megatron and the Decepticons arrive in Egypt as well and start attacking Sam and his group, and the NEST guys too. Soundwave is in orbit hacking the surveillance images and edits them to remove the Decepticons. Sam and Mikaela run off through the ruins with the Matrix dust whilst Bumblebee and the others create diversions. Nearby, The Fallen arrives from his dimension and lands on top of a pyramid

The Fallen order Megatron and the Decepticons to find the Matrix before Optimus can be revived with it. Sam and Mikaela and found by Rampage, who reveals that he has Sam's parents hostage. Elsewhere the Twins, Simmons and Leo see Devastator begin his attack on a pyramid. Sam's parents are rescued by Bumblebee who kills Rampage in the process and takes them away to safety.
Devastator's attack on the pyramid reveals that the harvester was hidden beneath it, Simmons manages to contact a US ship that holds a rail gun weapon on board and helps them to target it towards Devastator, whilst the Twins fight the giant monster, elsewhere Sam and Mikaela meet up with the army guys and Jetfire arrives at the battle, taking out some Decepticons easily, but eventually gets mortally wounded by Scorponok. Sam makes a run for it and tries to use the Matrix on Optimus, but he's caught in a blast and killed.
Whilst dead, Sam sees the Dynasty of Primes who tell him that he has proven himself as a true leader, and is worthy of the Matrix, so they revive him. The Matrix reforms and Sam uses it on Optimus, reviving him as well. The Fallen teleports nearby and steals the Matrix from Sam, and returns to the harvester, Jetfire offers his body to create an upgrade for Opitmus to allow him to fly, so Ratchet gets to work.
The Rail Gun weapon kills Devastator as Optimus arrives and destroys the harvester. Optimus reveals to Megatron that a Prime cannot be created (as The Fallen promised Megatron) but has to be born. Megatron is disillusioned and turns against The Fallen, and leaves through one of The Fallen's own space bridges as Optimus kills The Fallen himself.
In the aftermath the humans and Autobots return home and wonder about the future, as Megatron, on the Nemesis looks over his newly born army of hatchlings, and begins his preparations....

Notes
  • This is the adaptation of the ROTF Movie (duh)
  • Again, some details have been changed for speed/ease of reading/add older details from the script etc
  • Megatron knowing where The Fallen's ship is, is explained in Defiance where he visits him during the Allspark hunt.
  • The vine thingies that attack The Fallen at the end are very random...no one seems to know what they are...(I blame Quintessons)
  • The end of this story shows the Hatchlings being born, which were omitted from the movie version, but are a plot point in DOTM.
  • The scene where Arcee and her sisters were injured in Egypt was omitted here, but is referenced in later stories
  • Likewise Ravage's death wasn't shown here, but was shown in a later story as happening here

IDW - Alliance

Plot
Four months before the Mission City incident Wreckage is found and taken to a Sector Seven facility where he is worked on by Professor Vine and Agent Salazar to see how the Transformers work.
After the battle in Mission City, the Autobots and Army guys hunt down and kill the Allspark Mutations created during the battle, and Ratchet fixes Bumblebee's legs, which were blown off during the battle. Bumblebee's voice was fixed by the Allspark during the battle. The Auotbots find a trailer to take Jazz's dead body away from the battle site so he won't be taken and just dumped with the Decepticons. The Autobots drive away before mosre humans arrive.
Simmons arrives at the site and they start taking in vehicles affected by the Allspark and the dead Decepticon bodies, Lennox and Epps are consripted into Sector Seven by Simmons. The Decepticon bodies are taken to a Sector Seven base, where Vine learns that Wreckage won't wake up since Salazar went missing (thanks to Starscream).
A month later, Lennox and Epps are asked to get the Autobots to help S7 to escort the bodies of the Decepticons from the base to the docks, ready to be deposited in the depths. Barricade spies on the meeting and contacts Starscream, who is still on Mars after killing Dreadwind.

A short while later the Autobots arrive at the base and begin their escort roles, Optimus looks over the dead body of Megatron and the shard of the Allspark that he removed from his chest after the battle begins to react. Optimus gives the shard to Vine for safekeeping, in case it revives Megatron.
The bodies are transported with the Autobots in tow towards an aircraft carrier for their later departure. On Mars a shadowy figure looks over the remains of Dreadwind and learns of the recent events on Cybertron, but doesn't care, and looks towards Earth for the next clues in his mission.
In Nevada. the Shard is taken underground, and shoots off into Wreckage's chest, waking him up and he starts rampaging around the base, the Autobots are returning from their mission at the same time.
Wreckage breaks out of the base and starts trying to find Megatron, he is attacked by several LM Units from the base, but he easily kills them all, during the battle Vine is killed as well.
Starscream arrives on the scene, and fights with Wreckage as punishment for his betrayal, during the battle Frenzy's head is dropped on the floor and forgotten. Bumblebee and some of the army guys arrive and join in the fight, Starscream kills Wreckage and uses him as a shield and then blasts Bumblebee, shattering his voice box once more, before he can finish him off properly, Starscream is contacted by someone offscreen, Starscream's shocked as he thought he was dead, and flies off to meet up with him.

Shortly afterwards several Decepticons arrive on Earth in various countries, beginning a search for something.
After the fight in Nevada Simmons is stripped of his command and Sector Seven is finally disbanded after their actions recently and Lennox's team start to answer to a higher authority, Simmons takes Frenzy's head with him and leaves. The Allspark shard is found and Optimus takes custody of it again.
Within 2 weeks NEST is formed, and one of their first jobs is the depositing of the dead Transformers, including Jazz in the trailer. The Autobots and Humans start working together and sharing information as part of their Alliance.
Across the planet the Decepticons start small attacks and take on local alternate modes to aid them in their search mission. Dead End and Swindle are sent out to San Francisco to act as a distraction to the Autobots.
The Autobots and Humans train on Diego Garcia where NEST's base is set up, and the Allspark sharp is being held in a secure facility. The Autobots have set up a signal beacon near Mission City, calling out to any Auotbots to come to Earth as well. NEST learns of the disturbance in San Francisco and head out to deal with it as their first official mission.

The Auotbots and NEST arrive, and the Autobots are told to stay in vehicle mode to maintain their cover. Optimus quickly deals with Dead End, and Bumblebee has a battle with Swindle, but is forced to go into robot mode to do so, and he defeats the Decepticon. Later Bumblebee is berated for his potential breach in cover when they return to base. The Autobots and Humans think that the Decepticons were looking for something, possibly Sam, so they ship Bumblebee off back to Tranquility to protect him, just in case.
Over time, the Autobots and NEST take on several more Decepticon teams across the world and also gain some new troops from space who responded to the signal.
The Autobots and NEST continue training and working on taking down the Decepticons, who also keep arriving. Soundwave works from orbit searching the world for Megatron and the other targets.
The Autobots pick up a disturbance in Shanghai and set off to deal with it....

Notes
  • This is set during the 2 years between the first movie and ROTF
  • It's also the sequel to Reign of Cybertron
  • Optimus dons a trailer similar to his G1 counterpart's and his holo-driver is based on Peter Cullen, his voice actor
  • Wreckage's disguise colours are actually the colours used for his repaint toy, Bludgeon
  • Simmons gets Frenzy's head in this issue after Starscream used it for his own goals in Reign of Starscream
  • The Decepticon reinforcements arriving on Earth can be seen as an evil version of the same scene in the first movie (and a precursor to the Decepticons attacking Earth in ROTF as well)
  • Bumblebee's voice box is damaged again, explaining why he keeps using the radio in the next stories as well
  • Bumblebee is shipped off to protect Sam after he becomes a potential target
  • Sideswipe arriving with the Biker Girls and the Twins would later be shown as a mistake, as Sideswipe arrived separately to Arcee and the others and caused havoc in the process. It's possible that he did arrive earlier and was just sent out earlier to look after them when they first arrive.
  • NEST is formed out of Sector Seven's remains here.
  • The reason Elita One is back to life and not dead is shown in a later story
  • The things the Decepticons are searching for are: Megatron's body, the Allspark shard and the Matrix

Comic Notes

  • Soundwave's human alias is Mr. Wave...not exactly imaginative is he?
  • Mr. Kubikiri sounds like he should be Japanese or something...yet he has pale skin and blond hair, though his eyes are narrowed a bit I guess...
  • Soundwave is shown in his Mercedes robot mode, despite having his Satellite Alternate Mode still....
  • El Dorado, the lost city of gold is real! But then it blows up....
  • Why did Soundwave have the humans ship him to their location? He can fly!!!
  • Soundwave's plan is to make currency useless by spreading the gold from El Dorado and making it all worthless by comparison, causing the stock markets to crash and so on...I wouldn't mind having some gold honestly!!
  • The Autobots managed to stop an international incident, but don't have anything to show for it (Tanto Gang escaped, Soundwave escaped, El Dorado blew up)
  • The Tanto Gand never appeared again (maybe if there's a new series for the 4th movie though!)
  • These prequel stories after the previous issue told you "to be continued in DOTM" are most likely because pretty much every main Decepticon was killed in the movie!

Comic Plot

Starscream is having a fit in the Amazon Forest and is tearing it apart, looking for ...something, anything, angry that he's going nowhere in his life. Starscream sees some humans nearby to kill and/or maim, when he notices that they're carrying a statue in his image, and gets an idea.
3 months later NEST is called into the area after several frantic calls from that region to look around there, when they notice a large stone effigy of Starscream and realise that he's at least been in the area lately.
The team walk through the forest and make it to an Incan temple with a large hole blasted out of it. Lennox calls for Doctor Redway and her team to leave the area, when a pair of missiles come out of the trees. The missiles hit Ratchet and almost hits the humans. The Autobots and Lennox engage Starscream in battle. Knowing that he's unlikely to win the fight, Starscream causes a fire in the surrounding trees and flies off. Ratchet uses his buzzsaw weapon to cut down some of the trees and stop the fire from spreading any further.
The tribes who worship Starscream as a god now watch as he flies off.

Comic Characters

Autobots

Ironhide - Pick Up Truck
Ratchet - Emergency Humvee

Decepticons

Megatron (mentioned)
Starscream - F22 Jet

Other

Major Lennox
Doctor Redway
Dan (Redway's assistant)

Comic Notes

  • Ratchet actually has a big role in this comic....odd
  • Starscream implies here that he's setting up his own army now (just like Bludgeon is too) this storyline however isn't picked up later due to the relaunching to DOTM a few issues later
  • Starscream's been looking for any source of Energon on Earth now after the loss of the Allspark and Harvester.
  • Starscream was obviously looking in the Incan Temple looking for a new energy source, perhaps thinking that another harvester is hidden inside another pyramid or something.

Cover Date: August 2010
Price: £2.50
Poster: Soundwave and his globe

Comic Title: Making Waves
Script: Robin Etherington
Art: Jon Davis-Hunt
Colours: Hi-Fi Design
Lettering: Den Patrick

Comic Plot

Epps and Lennox are hunting down Soundwave who has been sighted around the Bahamas, and set a trap for him. Soundwave flies off into the Bermuda Triangle to hide from NEST, but winds up finding a bunch of missing aircraft and ships from times gone by, who immediately start attacking him as well.
Unable to shake the time displaced enemies Soundwave flies straight up and heads to the moon, which despite the solar radiation, meteor showers and space debris, seems much safer than Earth right now.

Comic Characters

Decepticons

Soundwave - Satellite/Jet
Megatron (mentioned)

Human

Major Lennox
Sergeant Epps

Comic Notes

  • Only one Transformer appears in this comic...this is a very rare situation
  • In the Bermuda Triangle Soundwave encounters a lot of missing aircraft, implying that it's a time looping location here
  • Soundwave decides to hide out on the Moon after escaping the Bermuda Triangle...possibly a very early reference to the next movie? Maybe he's checking up on Sentinel whilst he's there?
