Comic Title: Revolution Part 3

Comic Plot

Megatron instructs Starscream on how to revive his body, and so he does. Elsewhere the Decepticon Civil War continues at full pace. Stockade and his troops easily beat Blackout. Afterwards Stockade says that they'll go after Starscream's base, Overcast asks whether they'll honour their word to Optimus and just return it afterwards, and Stockade gives an indecisive answer.
Mikaela meets with Tom in Virginia, who says that he received a call from Ironhide a couple weeks ago to tell him that they feared the President might try to get rid of the Autobots soon and then reveals to her that the Autobots survived and are now back on Earth to finish the war.
Stockade and his troops arrive in Georgia and find the Decepticon Stronghold empty, then Megatron appears and attacks them from the sky. The Autobots head towards the Stronghold where Bumblebee reveals that the ship she saw destroyed was just a decoy, and their real ship was cloaked and hidden.
The Autobots arrive at the base and find Megatron and Stockade fighting it out, and the Autobots join the fight, in a way. They start shooting the Decepticons with devices, including the New Decepticons, which teleports them all away inside of Cybertron, which has been sealed off, and then transported itself far away, which burns out all the remaining fuel, trapping them inside the dead planet to die.
The Autobots are now stuck on Earth as well, but don't mind. Mikaela and Bumblebee drive off into the new peaceful world.

Comic Notes

  • This is sadly the last issue set in the alternate timeline :(
  • Jazz doesn't appear in this story, so his story was left unresolved
  • The Allspark fragment Starscream has at the start is most likely the same one that Ratchet used to revive Jazz
  • Megatron's body was never taken out of Hoover Dam after his death in Issue 13
  • It's not clear what happens to Blackout, he's seen cowering in front of Stockade, so he might have defected or been killed just afterwards.
  • Stockade begins to consider betraying Optimus here, showing his true Decepticon colours.
  • Strongarm now looks more like a real Jeep, unlike his toy and previous appearances
  • The Autobots decided to get rid of the New Decepticons before they betrayed them.
  • The last panel shows Mikaela and Bumblebee driving off into a peaceful sunny day, a stark contrast to how the series began, with them driving into a war zone at night.
  • Oddly Ratchet was never seen in this issue or the previous one...possibly meaning that he died..or was just forgotten about.
  • Amongst the Decepticons trapped on Cybertron appears to be a character using Divebomb's character model, and a G1 Seeker.

TFA Comic Title: The Race
Script: Robin Etherington
Pencils: John McCrea
Inks: Lee Bradley
Colours: Kat Nicholson
Lettering: Andrew James

Comic Plot

Bumblebee races to Sari with a pizza and gets tagged with a tracking and surveillance device by Black Arachnia. When he gets back to base he and Prowl argue over speed and skill and who is the fastest, so Sari suggests a race.
Black Arachnia meets up with Lugnut and Blitzwing and begins to plan an attack on them, using the race as the excuse, by getting them separated and picking them off one by one (since they keep winning thanks to teamwork)
The next day Sari has set up the race in the Crazy Coyote Canyon which Prowl and Bumblebee will need to navigate to win. Bulkhead decides to join in as well, just for fun. The race begins and Prowl starts showing off and promptly gets caught up in Black Arachnia's webbing.
Bumblebee starts to wonder where Prowl got to and decides to take a shortcut, where he suddenly finds a cavern where Prowl is being held by the Decepticons. Bumblebee tries to contact Optimus, but the canyon's reception is very bad. Bumblebee finds the tracking device on his ass and gets an idea.
Bumblebee sneaks into the base and rescues Prowl and they use teamwork to trick the Decepticons into causing a cave-in and trapping themselves.
Bumblebee and Prowl finish the race with Bumblebee coming first, but then he sees that Bulkhead actually won a short while ago and congratulates him.
In the cave Black Arachnia begins to track Bumblebee again, but the tracker says that he's in the cave with them...then she notices the tracker on Lugnut.

Comic Characters

Autobots

Optimus Prime - Truck Cab
Bumblebee - Hatchback
Prowl - Police Motorcycle
Bulkhead - SWAT Van
Ratchet - Ambulance

Decepticons

Megatron - Osprey Helicopter (mentioned)
Black Arachnia - Spider
Blitzwing - Tank/Jet
Lugnut - Bomber Plane

Humans

Sari Sumdac
Isaac Sumdac (mentioned)

Comic Notes

  • This comic has what could be easily seen as a front cover in front of it, despite the previous issue not having one. It could mean that either this cover was made especially for this printing or the previous issue was a newly made comic to just end the Afterburn storyline.
  • Black Arachnia is not usually seen with the other Decepticons
  • Black Arachnia promoting that the Decepticons should start working as a team like the Autobots do may be a reference to her being a former Autobot
  • In one scene where Bumblebee is in heavy shadow (randomly) he sort of resembles his Elite Guard toy
  • Lugnut has a "Robo-Butt"
  • When he says that, that's obviously when Bumblebee implants the tracking device
  • Lugnut's "stick" is a stalactite (judging from how he's holding it anyway)
  • This story must be a few weeks after the last issue since the base looks fully repaired
  • Optimus is seen on a billboard advertising something (probably oil)

Hardtop surrenders to Stockade and joins forces with him against Starscream.
Blackout reports Hardtop's defection to Starscream and says that Mudflap has either defected as well or was killed. Starscream is losing it at his base when suddenly he envisions Megatron telling him to revive him.

Comic Notes

  • Blackout was coloured like Evac in one scene...which is very confusing in the situation...
  • Also Thundercracker was coloured like Dreadwing in the same panel...ANNOYING!!!
  • And Hardtop like Brawl.....ARGGGHHH!!!!
  • Mikaela is drawn VERY unhealthy looking in her scenes...well maybe she's been crying?
  • The mind controlled humans are stopping any military from taking action against the Decepticons.
  • Stockade and his New Decepticons finally arrive on Earth, but they attack Starscream's forces (under Optimus Prime's suggestion)
  • Stockade and his team are still powered up with Nucleon
  • Fracture can use her powers to take apart a Fulcrum (command) drone and reassemble it under her control (thus taking over all it's subsidiary troops
  • Hardtop and maybe Mudflap have defected to the New Decepticons, otherwise Mudflap was killed.
  • Starscream has had statues made up with his head on them in his base.
  • This is the first named Decepticon Civil War since Marvel
  • Megatron's intentions are made clear here, when he convinces Starscream to revive him.
  • The Autobots are hiding out on Cybertron and are refitting it for something.....
  • The Autobots in the last 2 panels are either in the wrong colours or aren't drawn in too much detail (they are background characters after all) But it IS possible to work out who is who from the available cast
  • The scanning beam from Overcast is pure black...this was likely meant to be a different colour originally
  • Storm Surge can fly....
  • Remember the red variant Payloads from the early issues in this timeline? Well now they have green, purple and grey ones!

TFA Comic Title: Megatron's Revenge
Script: Simon Furman
Pencils & Inks: John McCrea
Colours: John Burns
Lettering: Andrew James

Comic Plot

Megatron is inside Autobot HQ and has just killed Afterburn, and reveals to Bumblebee that Afterburn was just a spy drone that he's created. Then he turns on attacking Bumblebee who has juts been joined by Sari and the other Autobots.
The Autobots attack Megatron, and start to get the upper hand, when Megatron calls for Starscream, Lugnut and Blitzwing to help him. Optimus begins to set up a plan, when Bumblebee attacks Megatron head on, whilst the Autobots and Deceptiocns continue their fight, and Starscream gets a plan.
Sari heals up Bumblebee with her key and the Autobots start to win the fight. Nearby Starscream takes advantage of this by blasting a metal scaffold which falls onto Megatron, aiming to kill him, but then decides to take advantage of the situation and pretends to rescue Megatron, regaining his trust somewhat. The Decepticons retreat on Starscream's orders, taking Megatron with them.
In the aftermath Optimus wonders if anything was really accomplished, with their base destroyed and exposed (Ratchet moans that it'll take weeks to fix up). Optimus congratulates Bumblebee on his actions today, whilst Bumblebee silently mourns Afterburn.

Comic Characters

Autobots

Optimus Prime - Truck Cab
Bumblebee - Hatchback
Prowl - Police Motorcycle
Bulkhead - SWAT Van
Ratchet - Ambulance
Afterburn - Off Road Car (killed by Megatron)

Decepticons

Megatron - Osprey Helicopter (injured by Starscream)
Starscream - Harrier Jet
Blitzwing - Jet/Tank
Lugnut - Bomber Plane

Humans

Sari Sumdac

Comic Notes

  • There is no additional front cover inside this issue for this comic, and the lettering is done by a different person than usual, both indications that this wasn't completely finished at the end of TFA's run, but was completed especially for this printing.
  • Did...did Megatron load Afterburn into his cannon and fire it? DUDE!!!
  • It's revealed here that Afterburn was a spark-less drone and never truly existed...despite him having feelings and so on
  • Megatron seems to act more like a stereotypical villain in this issue rather than his normal portrayal
  • Bumblebee seems really upset over Afterburn's death and even calls him his friend...despite the two not seeming to get along at all before hand
  • Starscream is back with the Decepticons...despite being a fugitive in Season 2 and a talking head in Season 3...
  • Optimus seems a bit cold here as well, as he basically tells Bumblebee to forget about "that drone"

President Allen tells America that he is giving into the Decepticon's demands and is forcing the Autobots off world. Starscream (with Megatron in his head) is glad and prepares his army to begin a full scale invasion again.
Mikaela and Bumblebee say goodbye in Falls Church (Mikaela's home) when Dropkick arrives and interrupts them. Bumblebee forces Dropkick into chasing him, where he tricks the Decepticon into flipping himself.
Later Bumblebee and Mikaela arrive at Andrew's Air Base, where the other Autobots are waiting and they leave on a space ship. President Allen orders a Patriot Missile to be launched at the ship and it detonates, seemingly killing all the Autobots, to Mikaela and Seward's great shock.

Comic Notes

  • Despite being the prominent feature of the front cover, Brawl only appears in one scene
  • General Seward was the guy from Hard Spark who learns with Optimus about Allen's true allegiance.
  • I like how all but six of Starscream's troops at his base in Georgia are all Payloads....
  • The truck Dropkick drives past when chasing Bumblebee is based on G1 Optimus

Comic Plot

Swoop and Grimlock have a fight, and Swoop leaves. He harasses some Human Jets and get's the Autobots moaned at by General Macadam. Swoop arrives at Autobot base to see if he can stay there, but upon getting shouted at by Optimus, he leaves again in a huff.
The next day Macadam is overseeing the test of the Wraith-X jet when Starscream attacks the base and takes control of the Jet, sets it's coordinates to Autobot HQ and activates it's warhead.
Macadam calls Optimus to warn him about the warhead and to ask for his help, when Optimus learns that there's a transmission leaking from the base. Bumblebee goes out to find Swoop to help them, which he agrees to do since Afterburn helped him out in the past.
Swoop counters the jet, redirects the trajectory and forces it into the water to explode away from anyone. Swoop is held up as a hero and is allowed to sly around Detroit all he wants to
Later, Afterburn has returned to base after a Special Ops mission and contacts Megatron, saying that he's communications are being detected and that people are questioning his background story, when Bumblebee walks in and sees Megatron blast his way into the base to kill Afterburn in person.

Comic Notes

  • Divebomb was Swoop's original name in Marvel UK and Dreamwave
  • This comic was originally meant to be Issue 4 of the TFA magazine, but it was cancelled at the last minute, so this issue, and the next two were printed up in the last 3 issues of Volume 1 of the Movie comics
  • Swoop joins the main Autobot cast in this comic, yet is never seen from again in this comic series (even the next issue which is set moments after this one ends
  • This comic is the only one of the "leftover" TFA comics that uses the usual lettering system, most likely because it was the only one completed when the comic was cancelled. It's also the only one with a complete-looking "front cover"
  • Swoop and Grimlock's big fight is over the answer to a TV show (which Grimlock was wrong on)
  • Snarl never speaks, but Swoop talks offscreen
  • Swoop has a Batman thing going on in this issue
  • Macadam is clearly a reference to Maccadam's Old Oil House (just spelt differently)
  • Bumblebee can go upside down using just his feet
  • Afterburn was a spy all along? E-GADS!
  • The Jet's name (Wraith-X) may be a reference to the IDW TFA hero/villain called The Wraith

Comic Notes

  • The third jet on the front cover seems to be using Divebomb's character model...despite him being dead, and not a part of Starscream's troops (plus he's the wrong colours as well). Though it could be meant to be Dreadwing from the colours....
  • The Autobot's knowing how to disable Cerebro Shells was shown off in issue 15...why can't they do this to Allen and the others then?!?
  • Optimus takes on his Entry Pod mode to attack the Decepticon's base, like he did in Issue 1
  • Grindcore is coloured yellow instead of green here
  • It's revealed that the device Megatron ejected in issue 13 and Starscream picked up, and subsequently downloaded contained Megatron's mind, which Megatron has been "haunting" since.

  • The Decepticons now have control of the Autobot's base
  • Jazz has become a gun-for-hire since going rogue
  • Hey look a guy with no toy! Guess how long he lasts?
  • Jazz's two weapons are based on the different weapons that come with his Deluxe toys (basic Jazz and Final Battle version)
  • Optimus finally realizes that Mikaela and Allen are under Decepticon control
  • Jazz claims he hasn't been corrupted, but liberated by the Allspark
  • If you look very carefully on the second comic page you can see some tiny Payloads on the ground.

Comic Plot

On Cybertron, Ironhide and his team are helpless to stop Stockade and his team from going about their business thanks to the Nucleon, and they explain that they summoned the Entity to Cybertron as it seems to be related to the Allspark in some way.
On Earth Camshaft reports how the situation is getting worse and how they can't handle it all. Back on Cybertron the Autobots decide to distract the Decepticons and disrupt the array from transferring Nucleon into the entity, before the entity can enter Cybertron. Ironhide rams into Divebomb and the others go for a ride around, getting the Decepticons to follow them, whilst Bumblebee heads to the control panel to stop the Nucleon flow in the entity.
Back on Earth, Mikaela is taken to meet with President Allen under the guise of helping to identify something, but instead he has her restrained, and implants a Cerebro-Shell onto her, so she can spy on the Autobots for the Decepticons
Back on Cybertron, the Decepticons manage to end the Autobot's distraction, but the Nucleon transfer already ended, though enough was transferred and the entity, Unicron is now inside Cybertron.

Comic Plot

After the destruction of the Allspark and Megatron's death the Autobots and Humans are slowly trying to work together, but after a lengthy occupation the Humans aren't quite so willing to accept their alien "friends", especially with Starscream and his troops attacking Humans everywhere.
The new governments aren't too happy with the Autobots still being on Earth, whilst Mikaela is looking into an illness that's causing people to rapidly loose their energy. At the old site of the Allspark energy distribution hub, Skyblast finds a shard of the Allspark that is placed in Ratchet's care (in case it was corrupted by Megatron).
That night, the Decepticons make another attack, which the Autobots roll out to try and stop, and to protect the nearby human shelter, but end up frightening the humans again.
Near Marathon Starscream begins one of his new plans, where he activates a Cerebro Shell, that takes control of one of the human commanders and sends him to attack the Autobots.

In Georgia the Autobots are pinned down and fear that they're too late to stop the Cyber-forming when Ratchet gets an idea.
Bumblebee activates the virus and launches it at Megatron, which causes him to burn up from the Allspark's power, meanwhile Ratchet fires a shot off at the Allspark itself and causes it to explode, just as Megatron dies in Hoover Dam, after launching a small device off his body first.
The Georgia base explodes just after the Autobots escape, and the Autobots celebrate, whilst Starscream recovers the device Megatron ejected just before his death.

Megatron is whooping Bumblebee when three Meteors attack the Decepticons, revealing themselves to be Elita One, Skyblast and Strongarm. Mikaela gets directed to a device at the base by Tom whilst the battles continue.
In Georgia, Longarm, Armorhide and Arcc have joined the fight on Ratchet and Ironhide's side, where Longarm is injured. Back in Hoover Dam, Optimus Prime has awoken and goes straight for Megatron.
