Comic Plot

Megatron instructs Starscream on how to revive his body, and so he does. Elsewhere the Decepticon Civil War continues at full pace. Stockade and his troops easily beat Blackout. Afterwards Stockade says that they'll go after Starscream's base, Overcast asks whether they'll honour their word to Optimus and just return it afterwards, and Stockade gives an indecisive answer.
Mikaela meets with Tom in Virginia, who says that he received a call from Ironhide a couple weeks ago to tell him that they feared the President might try to get rid of the Autobots soon and then reveals to her that the Autobots survived and are now back on Earth to finish the war.
Stockade and his troops arrive in Georgia and find the Decepticon Stronghold empty, then Megatron appears and attacks them from the sky. The Autobots head towards the Stronghold where Bumblebee reveals that the ship she saw destroyed was just a decoy, and their real ship was cloaked and hidden.
The Autobots arrive at the base and find Megatron and Stockade fighting it out, and the Autobots join the fight, in a way. They start shooting the Decepticons with devices, including the New Decepticons, which teleports them all away inside of Cybertron, which has been sealed off, and then transported itself far away, which burns out all the remaining fuel, trapping them inside the dead planet to die.
The Autobots are now stuck on Earth as well, but don't mind. Mikaela and Bumblebee drive off into the new peaceful world.

Comic Notes

  • This is sadly the last issue set in the alternate timeline :(
  • Jazz doesn't appear in this story, so his story was left unresolved
  • The Allspark fragment Starscream has at the start is most likely the same one that Ratchet used to revive Jazz
  • Megatron's body was never taken out of Hoover Dam after his death in Issue 13
  • It's not clear what happens to Blackout, he's seen cowering in front of Stockade, so he might have defected or been killed just afterwards.
  • Stockade begins to consider betraying Optimus here, showing his true Decepticon colours.
  • Strongarm now looks more like a real Jeep, unlike his toy and previous appearances
  • The Autobots decided to get rid of the New Decepticons before they betrayed them.
  • The last panel shows Mikaela and Bumblebee driving off into a peaceful sunny day, a stark contrast to how the series began, with them driving into a war zone at night.
  • Oddly Ratchet was never seen in this issue or the previous one...possibly meaning that he died..or was just forgotten about.
  • Amongst the Decepticons trapped on Cybertron appears to be a character using Divebomb's character model, and a G1 Seeker.

Comic Plot

Bumblebee races to Sari with a pizza and gets tagged with a tracking and surveillance device by Black Arachnia. When he gets back to base he and Prowl argue over speed and skill and who is the fastest, so Sari suggests a race.
Black Arachnia meets up with Lugnut and Blitzwing and begins to plan an attack on them, using the race as the excuse, by getting them separated and picking them off one by one (since they keep winning thanks to teamwork)
The next day Sari has set up the race in the Crazy Coyote Canyon which Prowl and Bumblebee will need to navigate to win. Bulkhead decides to join in as well, just for fun. The race begins and Prowl starts showing off and promptly gets caught up in Black Arachnia's webbing.
Bumblebee starts to wonder where Prowl got to and decides to take a shortcut, where he suddenly finds a cavern where Prowl is being held by the Decepticons. Bumblebee tries to contact Optimus, but the canyon's reception is very bad. Bumblebee finds the tracking device on his ass and gets an idea.
Bumblebee sneaks into the base and rescues Prowl and they use teamwork to trick the Decepticons into causing a cave-in and trapping themselves.
Bumblebee and Prowl finish the race with Bumblebee coming first, but then he sees that Bulkhead actually won a short while ago and congratulates him.
In the cave Black Arachnia begins to track Bumblebee again, but the tracker says that he's in the cave with them...then she notices the tracker on Lugnut.

Comic Notes

  • This comic has what could be easily seen as a front cover in front of it, despite the previous issue not having one. It could mean that either this cover was made especially for this printing or the previous issue was a newly made comic to just end the Afterburn storyline.
  • Black Arachnia is not usually seen with the other Decepticons
  • Black Arachnia promoting that the Decepticons should start working as a team like the Autobots do may be a reference to her being a former Autobot
  • In one scene where Bumblebee is in heavy shadow (randomly) he sort of resembles his Elite Guard toy
  • Lugnut has a "Robo-Butt"
  • When he says that, that's obviously when Bumblebee implants the tracking device
  • Lugnut's "stick" is a stalactite (judging from how he's holding it anyway)
  • This story must be a few weeks after the last issue since the base looks fully repaired
  • Optimus is seen on a billboard advertising something (probably oil)
