Comic Plot

Just after the events of Mission City Starscream is flying above the city and finds the Allspark Mutations, he starts killing them and stealing their sparks, putting them into the dead bodies of his fellow Decepticons, turning them into zombies. The zombies attack the remaining Autobots who are still tired from the big battle.

Ratchet soon discovers that the Decepticons have been reanimated by the smaller sparks and works out how to kill them with energy blasts. The Autobots win the fight, but Optimus wonders if it's truly all over as he watches an F-22 take off with some more sparks inside it.

Comics Notes

• The colourful, bulbous artwork in this issue was likely used so it doesn't scare the younger readers (it is a zombie story after all)
• This story is set right after the events of the first movie
• Bumblebee isn't in this issue, most likely because of his missing legs
• Barricade is shown as dead in this issue, this is because they used an earlier version of the film script where he was killed on the Motorway
• Starscream's jet mode colours are very similar to his G1 ones...hmmm...
• Sparks in this issue are shown as tiny Allspark replicas with cords coming out of them
• The whole point in this story is that Starscream recovers the sparks from the Mutations to put into his own forces, but we never see this storyline picked up ever again...oh well, Zombies are cool none-the-less
• Jazz has of course been killed off by this point in the story
• This comic is DEFINITELY out of continuity with IDW!!!
• ZOMBIES!!!!!
• This is the first issue with a poster featuring new artwork exclusive to Titan.
