Comic Plot

The Decepticons have picked up their attacks and are overwhelming the far spread Autobots. Ratchet decides to help the Autobots by reviving the dead Jazz using the Allspark shard. 6 days later Optimus meets with the President to discuss the planetary instabilities from the Allspark still, and assures them that a team of specialists are on the way to help out.
Above them Thundercracker reports to Starscream that the planet is spitting up raw energon, but the Autobots have beaten them to it. Starscream seems sure that they'll get to it themselves.
In Savannah Jazz is up and about again Optimus sends Ratchet and Jazz out on a mission, but asks Ratchet to keep an eye on Jazz, just in case. On the mission, Jazz speeds off ahead and sets up a Holo-Forum activator to try and auction off Earth to the highest bidder (as it's full of raw Energon now). Ratchet tries to stop him, but Jazz shoots him with an Inhibitor Clamp, which fully petrifies him.
Suddenly Dreadwing and a Decepticon Jet attack Jazz and his forum, causing it to explode. Ratchet repairs himself in the confusion and scares off the Decepticons. Once the smoke clears Jazz has disappeared as well, leaving Ratchet ashamed of what he's caused to happen

Comic Notes

  • The comic is advertised as "Part One" despite being a single issue story
  • Longarm has been repaired after his injuries in issue 12
  • Barricade and Blackout are shown to still be alive here
  • On his reappearance Longarm is shown telling himself to pick a target (This could be a mistake as Ironhide might be telling him to pick his target, or Longarm might just be self-motivating himself)
  • Jazz is revived by the corrupted Allspark fragment placed in Ratchet's care in issue 14. He turns out evil because of it
  • Some of the characters are given some quite extreme makeovers here, like Ratchet's wheel placements.
  • The Decepticon's marathon adjacent base is under water
  • That odd jet design from the previous issue is around here as well...maybe it's meant to be Thundercracker?
  • Ratchet can fully heal himself as he carries a full set of replacement parts on him (most likely in subspace)
  • Jazz doesn't remember what it was like being dead
